There'll be an extremely brief and one sided fight between the national grid and an Aldi generator. And then he'll need a new one.

Milwaukee (and Festool) do a slightly different design for the nut that has a pop up flange you can spin.

The Festool one is £30, but the Milwaukee one is £6! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Milwaukee-4932352473-Fixt...
Thank you - three purchased and now fitted

Excellent addition to my three angle grinders - I normally set up one with a zip wheel, one with cutting and one with flap disc - so if I need a grinding disc or a different grade flap disc I have to swap out these make life really easy

I don't get! We've got 6 grinders dotted around the workshop and I can't remember the last time I couldn't change a disc without a sharp twist of the wrist. Do you guys tighten them with the pin wrench?

Remembered this vid I saw a while ago, I am guilty of doing the first type of plunge cut as its a lot faster and gives better spark spray! But the second style makes discs last a lot longer....

I need a staple gun what can I get for around £20.

I will be using it to put some membrane inside some planters which are made of decking boards and also some membrane to staple onto a load of sleeper raised beds

Screwfix have a titan one for 20 quid. I think it's the one I've got which will drive the staples into treated c24 softwood and osb3. Not sure what else is out there for only twenty quid.

I got the Amazon Basics one for £13 - works fine for stapling fabric onto wood, which is all I've used it for.

I have that one and it comfortably stapled 5mm ply to chipboard floor and left the staples flush with the floor

Similar story when cutting wood with a circular saw. A lot of users just bang the saw down to max cutting depth even if just cutting a sheet of ply. Best to adjust the blade so the teeth at the bottom are just a few mm proud of the underside of the workpiece. Result: Less blade wear, less strain on the motor and less chance of blade wander.

PS my Milwaukee fixtec angle grinder nuts arrived yesterday by pure coincidence. Still in the blister packs at the moment, will be trying them out at the weekend. £6.99 each I think (followed the link that was posted on here), can’t go wrong!

I guess you mean this one

I was actually looking for a normal manual one like this:

Finally fitted my fixtec after it sat in the workbench for the last 6 months in the packet. My 20 year old Challenge Extreme Argos grinder has never looked so fancy biggrin

I would just buy that one, Stanley is a fine brand.

Or go to a local industrial supplies type place and see what they have in.

I'm also after a powered stapler/nailer

It is to fit a Stairs runner , its quite thin, about the same as a thin rug

Will a £40 screwfix/titan basic powered one be up to the job?

Cheers

Me too, but only got 2 grinders hehe its only on a rare occasion i need to find the pin wrench to undo a disc if its tightened on itself a lot due to heavy use, but 95% of the time I just lock the shaft and give a twist, need gloves for a brush though cry

10% off Milwaukee at forum favourite PowerToolMate from tomorrow - and they already usually always have the best prices in the first place.

Might finally go for that nice new slim, extended reach M12 ratchet I've had my eye on for a while. And some other stuff...

A friend showed me a neat trick at the weekend of locking it and knocking the disc against a worktop. I didn't like to mention that I'd also invested in the Milwaukee quick release! biggrin

This, I also never needed a tool to remove a disc.
