I picked up a Makita track and was hoping to use my Hitachi M12VE router with, but no-one seems to offer an adapter.

I could modify a base-plate adapter for another router although that as a concept seems a faff to swap between.

Or I could buy a spare straight guide adapter and get creative? How hard can it be?

Makita do adapters for their normal circular saws. Probably easier to adapt one to fit your router than adapt something else to fit the track

You can never have too many water butts biggrin, there’d be a 4th (and 5th) if there was a bit more space at that side of the house. Mrs Jerry always manages to empty them during the hot, dry spells.

What tools would you need to buy in order to adapt an adapter ? (in the spirit of this thread smile)

Almost like The Putter. Which if you haven't seen it is a beautiful short film about Sheffield scissor making.

Very sad story if you read the thread.
My Ernest Wright scissors arrived yesterday, about 5 months after placing the order.

Nice to see Made in Sheffield on something brand new.

I'll be honest, I looked at the saw and then went bow at the water butts

The Bosch router track adapter is supposed to be universal?

Hafele are currently selling these for £32+VAT!

Goes nicely on top of the TS-55 box and still allows you to open it - much better boxes than the Makita ones

Says trade only when I look at it? Not a bad price if you want one, most people are £10-15 more.

As for the Makita boxes, they might not be the ultimate but you can get them really really cheap; I've seen the Type 3s for £15 each and even for £10 with a bundle. You can get some good prices on the other brands if you search (I like L Boxxes, some bargains to be had on 136s) but for cheap storage boxes for 'stuff' the Makita ones aren't bad at all.

Yeah, you need an account but I think anyone can set one up tbh... I just did it when I was doing the kitchen as I needed a few things and called them direct so I don't get any amazing discount etc.

Yeah - I bought a load of Makita ones a few years go for maybe less than the prices you mention so they were a good buy and I needed the storage but they are just not up to the quality you'd expect as the tools and first class!

The Souber DBB morticer. When you absolutely, positively have to drill every motherfker in the house, accept no substitutes.

I assume you’re fitting rack bolts as part of your security upgrades? You probably know but you can buy them with a thumb turn, rather than the separate keys. The mortice jig indicates you probably don’t trust yourself not to send a drill bit skewering out of the side of the door?laugh
