Cheapskates, If you browse the Wera catalogue you'll see they do an adaptor to fit the aforementioned adapted adaptor.

I picked up a Makita track and was hoping to use my Hitachi M12VE router with, but no-one seems to offer an adapter.

I could modify a base-plate adapter for another router although that as a concept seems a faff to swap between.

Or I could buy a spare straight guide adapter and get creative? How hard can it be?
These guys on ebay might make one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/wegsisolutions?mkcid=16...
The Bosch router track adapter is supposed to be universal?
Thanks, they're both base-plate adapters which seem a faff if you want to swap to the parallel guide although I guess it's not something you'll be doing constantly.

I'd prefer if possible a guide using the same type of bars that the parallel guide utilises; it's amazing noone makes a universal fit. The Makita one itself so far as I can tell has the bars closer together than my Hitachi's 136mm: https://tools4trade.co.uk/products/makita-194579-2...

ETA: That said if anyone has the Makita big router I'd appreciate if you could measure the bars centre for me as I've only gleaned this off t'net.

I’ll have a look on mine and measure the centres, the makita adapter has 4 slots for mounting the rods into, think they might be 2 different sizes though…

My Milwaukee M18 combi drill, impact and multitool have proved their worth and reliability many times over, and I'd been tempted by a ratchet for years.

They did extended M12 ratchets, high speed ratchets, and slim nosed ratchets, but until this model came out, never all three in one model.

This thing is superb. I've done an aircon condenser on a Mazda3 and a front suspension rebuild on my C Class already, and it's brill. Definitely speeds the job up, and the head is even slimmer than my manual ratchets. Very very useful bit of kit.

These arrived today. I purchased them at Christmas following a post on this thread. Wonderful things.
Lovely craftsmanship and worth the wait.

I bought the normal style ones a couple of years ago and then got the kitchen ones as a present off MrsSpydie smile

I’ve lost count of the number of times you’ve posted that clip - each time it makes me chuckle when she looks round and sees you filming - that look is a classic

I won't post up the vid of me tackling bamboo - but it took three years of effort, that roughneck pick and a full sized mattock.

The only things that should plant bamboo are pandas. Except they don't have opposible thumbs, so shouldn't plant bamboo.

fking hateful stuff...

Either that or a new patio will appear soon.

Awful fact - the Viet Cong used to hang prisoners over bamboo shoots as they were hard, pointy and grew very fast. You can imagine what happened to the poor soul.

Thanks, I've just ordered one of these https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/944353762/router-a...

That it splits in two means you can leave the baseplate section on while getting the benefit of the stability of the wide track section, I've taken a punt that it's about the right size I can sorta make it fit my Hitachi!

Anyone got a suggestion for a decent brake cleaner/solvent sprayer that will last without going brittle or having the seals inside fail?
Just gone to use mine to find it’s going on the scrap pile with the rest.

I can't comment on whether they last, but I've pretty much only seen Wurth ones in places I have worked

This, and they give you a spare seal for when it goes (and carry them in their shops)

Cheers guys; I’ll try one of those.
I’d seen them but not taken the plunge before asking the hive mind in case there was a hidden, better option.
