That one seems to be growing toolboxes.

100l air compressor finally died after 10 years of heavy use.

Looking at probably going for a vertical one now as it makes more sense in the garage.

It is just home use so nothing overly special but enough to run a spray gun etc.

Recommendations?

Pop down to Sainsbury's and see if they have any 250L 15CFM Clarke Air Industrial vertical air compressors on offer. I got mine for free that way...

Tile wedge things - combined leveller & spacer - they are awesome - even I can look like a half competent tiler.

Having watched Adam Savages show where he bought one.

I would now like a fractal vice... Very cool piece of engineering.

I talked my builder mate into using them for my kitchen extension. He's old school and was reluctant but gave it a go - he's seen the light thumbup

I have the Sealey SAC05020 - 50ltr and noisy. But it’s been bulletproof and doesn’t take up much space. Runs nail guns all day long, but a big breathless for cleaning stuff down with an air gun. I am sure they do bigger versions.

Never heard of these before and just watched a quick video on them after reading this. Not the biggest fan of tiling but this does look like a great system. I’ve made a mental note as sooner or later I’m bound to be doing some tiling again so thanks for posting!

The last tiles I did, I steered my wife towards bevelled tiles to help hide my incompetence. This time she insisted on flat ones & the guy in the shop introduced me to these. They are fantastic.

I can see that trying to use level the tiles as well as space them will cause more trouble than it solves - making sure the wall is plastered flat (rather than just looks nice) is a better way than trying to 'flatten' it whilst tiling.

How do you avoid getting air gaps behind the tiles?

He was in that vid, weirdly. Normally he comes across well. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the topic.

Basically you do have gaps. But they are so minor it’s a non issue I have found.

They only pull the tile up 2mm or so at most and generally you find you use them to push the tile down.

I’ve done a few floors for family and friends now and never had a tile crack with the air gaps.
