That is lovely, I am sure I could get a barn in there for more cars etc.
Whereas I think its utterly tasteless nouveau grottyness. The name on that gate is the most council thing I've seen on this thread I think, well, after the live love laugh thing above the cooker. The pool bit looks pretty depressing too.

You can tell a lot about the owner of the house by what he's put in the giant wine seller, bugger all seems to be the answer here. Probably don't like the taste hehe
Luckily we all all very different or we would all live in the same box. It’s odd though that if you don’t like it you put the owner or buyer down as tasteless.
Exactly, and 'wine seller'. You can tell a lot about a poster... hehe

This one is really nice, seems lovely quality which considering the previous owner is kind of obvious.
I am none the wiser as to the previous owner?
Sir John Harvey-Jones, nice to see that back in the day titans of industry didn't think they should be living in Palladian mansions.

Given he died at least a dozen years ago, I'm not sure he can claim credit for the house today.

I must have missed the bit where he came back from the grave to do so.

Seeing as he did the conversions I thinks it reasonable to credit him with the outer shell..

Thanks all, what was it about the house that made it obvious he owned it previously?

Fookin ell, I cant work out if its intentionally 70s or actually not touched since the 70s.
I like the hifi cabinet upholstered in the same material as the sofa in pic 9!
Original mac in one pic too!

The implication, from a previous poster, was that the quality of the house was because of a man who died 12 years ago.

Based on planning applications I'd say the current owners are not famous in any way.

It says so in the listing.

Lol, that would teach me to read it all instead of looking at the pictures, I carefully looked at the pics expecting a "who lives in a home like this?" clue…like a the earlier pool with “Chelsea FC" in the tiles or a huge portrait on the stairs.

Phone autocorrect, sadly.

I think whoever decorated that house has very poor taste, yes. It is lucky we don’t all like the same things, but it’s surprising to see the Mrs Hinch type houses even at that level.

Could it be that the description said so?

He originally converted it according to the blurb then the current owners have done further works.
