I think Geoff is playing with me. My new lap top was meant to arrive before 10:30 this morning. It’s raining and I know the delivery driver will drop and run.
All day, Geoff has been coming around to the front of my house and triggering the ring door bell. I jump up excitedly and run over only to see him running away.
This may be the most tech/millennial version of “knock a door runaway” ever.
Still no bloody laptop.

Just looking through the manual and youtube videos, on my old Bosch there were just 2 connections, 1 single piece of wire that went round the garden and back in the base again. On the Flymo do I have to put the guide wire in?
The flymo manual is not that clear.

Sorry for the multiple posts but want to ideally install this today.
Does the guide wire just come out of the base then go off at an angle to the boundary wire? I cant see in the manual how you are best to install this.
Will this work as per picture, as if i did this to my Bosch indego it definitely would not have worked and the mower would have been on the garden by the base station, basically anywhere where there was boundary wire, it was not very intelligent and then gets stuck.

Does anyone have tips on how to find breaks in the boundary wire?
As happens every year, once I get the robot mower out of winter hibernation, it seems there's a cut somewhere in the guide wire and it's proving very difficult to find...

Assuming yours works like mine then your suggested layout would work. The guide wire is there for when the mower is thirsty and needs to get back to his base to charge. In complex gardens that can be difficult to find so they use the guide. I have 2 guide lines in mine and can use 3 if I wanted. Does the guide wire just come out of the base then go off at an angle to the boundary wire? I cant see in the manual how you are best to install this.

The other advantage of laying guide lines is that when the cable breaks, you can section off the area to narrow down the break by switching the guide lines with the boundary lines.

Add connectors every so often around the perimeter with a 2" stub wire in the 3rd port which you can use for testing.
ETA: sorry didn't notice you said guide wire.
My bad! I meant boundary wire but wrote guide wire - not enough coffee!Add connectors every so often around the perimeter with a 2" stub wire in the 3rd port which you can use for testing.

Will consider your suggested approach - cheers!
Beyond “you have a break in the loop” there’s not much more we can give you.
On this page I mentioned that you can use the guide wire in place of one of the boundary wires to split the loop into 2. At least then you can narrow it down. If this doesn’t work then it’s likely the join where the guide wire hits the boundary. One of mine wasn’t closed completely causing the issue you have.

All seems ok now. First impressions are that it is a lot better than my Bosch connect 350. That used to get stuck daily.
Quick question, the Bosch on its first run would do a walk round the garden to map it out. The Flymo has done this. Are they meant to or should it just go out on its first cut and get on with it?
