Dan, have you actually bought anything yet? It's been two months now... laugh
:Hehe:

Erm... No. Built a rather large climbing frame, refurbed the garden, sorted the garage... All with the old set that meant changing battery every 20 minutes and a borrowed cabled one.

Not even sure why I need replacements now laugh

Any good deals about at the moment? Followed a few links here but not all of them work now.

I’m after a drill for my brother for Christmas. I’d say basic DIY duties and often used as a screw driver.

I’d guess around £80-100, lower the better though really.

I have a DeWalt drill which is excellent but out of scope here.

Can't vouch for the drill but I have fairly recently got an Erbauer angle grinder and a multitool and both seem very good quality and significantly cheaper than Dewalt or Makita.

Screwfix have a cracking deal on an 18v erbauer combi, 2x4ah batteries plus a free erbauer bluetooth speaker for £139. I've just started upgrading to their new EXT range from their old stuff and it's very very good at the price point. I Also picked up the multi tool, impact driver and jigsaw as bare units, 70 quid each

If you didn't want to break the £100 barrier they should have a combi 2ah version for about 70/80 quid

I’ll keep an eye on the Erbauer prices on screwfix, hopefully a Black Friday deal pops up.

Not seeing any deals on the mid tier stuff. Plenty of deals on the really cheap stuff however.

The Erbauer set still looking like a winner.

I added an impact driver to my set of Ryobi stuff - I'd definitely recommend it for building stud walls or building a deck/floating floor.

Mustie1 on YouTube seems to use Milwaukee for pretty much all cordless tools - so despite being a Makita fan (and stuck with them due to large amounts of tools and batteries), I'd happily use Milwaukee instead - most of his are decidedly "well worn" and seem to get used non stop.
Not sponsored by them yet, either - just by Lava hand soap and 3-in-1 oil!

I'm still half sort of looking as I've got another task looming that'll require them... This seems a good deal

Nah we’re 6 months down the line - due to rampant climate change and all the power outages we’re back with Yankee pump screwdrivers and a brace and bit hehe

Yup that's not bad value. I bought a Dewalt Pro set recently with more torque and 2 x 5Ah batteries, but it was £288 and it's not 50% better than that box for home/DIY use. Get them and start using, you'll be amazed at how much you use them for other jobs.

I really want a set and need one, but I cant justify £288 for it. I'll use it to put floorboards down, going to floor the eves of my house for storage. I'd also drill a few holes in the garage wall for a secondary lock, and possibly a couple holes when laying a wooden floor.

So far iv completed half a house rebuild with a 10 year old battery powered Woolworths drill lol what a machine.

I was considering the ryobi brushless twin set tbh, was hoping it got knocked down to near £100 like the brushed set for black Friday. I like the colour.

I have the same set, and its the best thing in the toolbox. Really handy, doesn't take too long to charge, very useful to have both drill and driver. 3ah batteries are fine for domestic use. Only downside really is 2 batteries and 1 charger, so if you end up with both empty at once you need to have a couple of cups of tea while they both recharge.

Treat yourself to an early Christmas present and get it bought.
