Sadly, no further interest for any party (four of them). Remarkable how much of a barrier 8-9 feet of water is.

I managed to find an identical camera in mint condition in eBay (and been back to the same spot and taken the photo I was trying to take when I lost the first one!) so the case is closed I think.

I didn't think it was ever going to be easy hehe I take my hat off to those that tried to retrieve it though.

Might be worth investing a couple of quid in a camera strap - http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=camera+strap

This time I did use the little girlie wriststrap. But then I had the thought that if I dropped the camera, the strap would slip straigt off my wrist as well. So I tied it round my watchstrap as well. Then I thought that if I dropped the camera I would lose not only the camera and the strap, but the watch...

Damn risky this marine photography.

And here's what it was about - a snap that ended up costing over £220 frown

It's where I'd be today, except I have a meeting this afternoon, the only sunny day of the week. Buggeration.

I can see a glint in the water, just at the bottom of the photo... is that? Could it be?

You should have stopped right there, you found your camera!

I think you have to drop the new one in before the case is closed...

OK, but I think I need some more dropping practice first. Can you send me yours?
