I dont like the examples shown. The top one is better due to it looking less like you say a door stop in a paint booth but I don't like the diamonte on it. But the artist may do other star wars bits that I want to look at

And tbh looking like a painters radio isn't always bad I really like a lot of jjadams stuff but it's more restrained

Well if we're moving away from walls, I have this:

(Apologies for the handbag but it was the best pic I could find and the house is currently too messy for me to re-shoot it)

It's a mannequin, possibly polystyrene from the weight, that has been overlaid with broken ceramic as mosaic.

There's a lot on here which isn't to my taste, but I love the diversity of what appeals to people, and I get to see stuff I otherwise wouldn't come across.

Meanwhile, at the boring end of the spectrum, a watercolour for the holiday let from the local auction, 60x45cm £30+ comm

Webb's boatyard is on the River Orwell, Google says.

Oh, absolutely. There are a few things where I think "You paid money for that???" and I'm sure that people have looked at my posts and thought "what a load of girly ste. I hope she got that out of a skip" although in some cases I almost did (I have got some stunning bargains over the years).

But, yes. I totally agree with you. And it's nice that the thread hasn't descended into a willy-waving contest over how much money people have spent, like so many other similar threads do. I mean, it's shown signs of doing so occasionally, but somehow has pulled back from it.

Indeed. Your stuff is fascinating, but I'd like to see what it's standing on if you don't mind - looks like an interesting piece of furniture.

It's an old Camphor wood chest in an oriental style that my grandmother bought years ago and which I inherited on her death because I was the one who said "I want that and I will fight anyone who disagrees" and everyone else said "take it, it's firewood". Heathens. smile

I've seen a few like it on the likes of Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip since, and also in antiques shops, and it's not worth a huge amount of money. And mine is fairly beat up too. But I love it and grandma bought good stuff.

edit: And thank you. I do have a fairly eclectic taste I must say. A friend who I had know for many years online, and who I got to know in RL very well too subsequently, upon my house for the first time, said "OMG every wall and every surface is YOU".

edit2: No, there is not a cut-out of a guitar on the back. hehe

They eye lenses aren't the issue it's the row of them on the rim of his helmet *snigger* for me

I like the concept of 66's over the others as there is actual work gone Into it rather than the other painters door stop ones

What I'd love is a pair one std trooper helmet white with tattoo designs over it and a tie pilot helmet in black with the same

I suppose more in the JJ Adams style love love love his stuff

Or this by Monica Vincent (Lego too even better wink )

Bingo this one by her

This is in my spare bedroom, a friends wife paints them

By Caroline shotton, the best of British, we put a fancy frame on it to make it look like an old masterpiece
