I've been following the thread from the start, and think it's proper awesome.
But I don't think anyone has said it yet... the climbing frame needs to be relocated so the slide goes into the pool...
I suggested it on page 28 But I don't think anyone has said it yet... the climbing frame needs to be relocated so the slide goes into the pool...

So will this be re-purposed as a water slide? The trampoline and swings would also provide excellent means of accessing the pool.

That slide could come in handy

The loft is very very well lagged, it's a double glazed small terraced house Inbetween 2 young families and catches the sun all day. The boiler is rarely on, the thermostat is set at 12oC, I like it cold. I tend to shower at the gym etc and don't really use much electricity, charge my phone at work and stuff. My girlfriend is moving in this autumn so I imagine it will soar this winter.

Awesome project!
Not attempting to put a downer on it but the lack of experience in paving is bugging me. Crossed pointing (four slab corners meeting), too many straight lines in pointing (for too long) and no repeated pattern kept. It's killing my OCD.

Laying pattern. We ignored it as they have far more straight joints.
Doesn't explain the crosses however. As bad as dot and dab in my book.

You're well and truly in for a shock! Hi all, we are now exactly at the 3 week point where the first turf was taken up! Obviously a few more days to go, but pretty spectacular that it was 18 days from the first turf coming up to her having her first swim in the heated pool!
I'll keep the updates coming and am off to order the terrace furniture now!

Julian that's a great result by your team and yourself. Very satisfying . Have you been managing to work also?
Can you tell me a bit about your house brickwork please?
It looks like cavity on the lower section then after the courbe brick it seems 9inch solid.(steady there Gretchen).
Or is it cavity with false header bricks cut in half? Don't see that bond much these days.
Are you going to put a render plinth on those lower brick courses? From the photos they look like common fleton bricks.
Looking forward to seeing the finished project.
Top work by all involved .

I can't answer your questions (I don't have the technical knowledge) but am sure Nick could do so. The house is late 18 hundreds if that helps - and we have dug down.
A solid 9 inches is also something beyond me (Hi Gretchen!).
Edited for typo
