What happens if one of the light bulbs blow or the light stops working? Do you you have to drain it so the water is below the light fitting in order to replace it?
They're generally fully sealed units which can be removed while there's water in the pool.Gretchen said:

Love this photo. Very calming. One of those 'thinking over all you happy memories' pictures. I thought they would fall fast asleep, but I had to go in at 1:00am to point out the time! They were up and in again first thing this morning though!
She is swimming at least 5 hours a day right now and that is fantastic for her core strength, general body movement and lung strength - whilst all just being great fun for her.

Is there a reason that there are only lights on one side of the pool?

It only needs lights on one side to light up the whole pool. It is conventional practice in pools of this size and bigger. This pool also has 3 additional light at the steps end. One facing the other end and two smaller ones facing each other. I'll try to get some more photos to highlight.
HI Julian, do you know how much oil you are chewing through under warming(top up) conditions. I would guess you have something in the 80-100KW range. I would make another guess that a lite of oil holds 10kw. So 1 hour on the heat pump would be 8-10 litres of oil. How big is your tank and how do you monitor actual use. I use the long stick method

My tank is 1,800 litres and there is an electronic display showing the fill level. It has 10 levels and we lost 3 during the initial heat up but haven't lost any more yet keeping at temperature.I'm hoping to get a month out of it and will be very happy with that - I'll report back!
The solar cover helps too.

Yes, she had a friend over for a sleepover and they were just sat talking and quite tired out after their 'midnight swim'. I ended up getting in with them and have to say it was wonderful at night with the steam coming off the water.

I know this is quite an un-PH thing to type but that alone must be worth more than the previously planned DBS. Top work Julian - you should be very proud of yourselfI thought they would fall fast asleep, but I had to go in at 1:00am to point out the time! Long term oil is gonna be silly, get a quote to lay on gas, it will be less than £300 per month, mine is.
Also, see if you can get a sealant on the slabs for the patio, I wish I had. Have a full on diesel steam cleaner and I get our bloke to steam ours twice per yr and it still doesn't get rid of all the growth but it does spit the grouting in to the pool, if you can seal it and stop the black and green algae it will be worth it.

Paving update...
We are going to level out around the tree and lay pea gravel in the square to make it a feature.
As you are over budget, I can help out a bit I think. We are going to level out around the tree and lay pea gravel in the square to make it a feature.
I have half a bulk bag of 20-10.. washed gravel you can have.
All I ask in return is use of the shade under the tree round which the gravel will be placed.
And the pool.
And your beer fridge.
Oh, go on then, and the Aston.
Those electronic sensors are great, I often take a peek at ours, then out of habit get a garden cane out, you know just to check the gadget is working properly....
