In Milford On Sea in Hampshire, this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Or this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Which is why I'm moving to Ringwood, where for less money you could buy this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Quirky 5 bed bungalow for £430k in Birstall (yeah, where Jo Cox was murdered). That's the most expensive house at the moment in the area

What an utterly bizarre house and layout and the pool squeezed into a small room when there appears to be plenty of space around the house to move it outward. I don't dislike the place but just very strange.

In Farnborough, £500k gets you in to 4 beds and detached.

If however you've only got £350k, the choices are really, really ste.

This looks rather average compared to the last few, just a few roads from me:

Using Rightmove as the yardstick, in Cambridge £500k doesn't get you much. £550k buys you a 2 bed apartment on the outskirts; £575k a victorian terrace about 20 minutes' walk from the centre.

As I keep telling my old man when he badgers me to move on the basis "you must have done very well on your house": "if I sell my house I can afford to buy...my house".

It's a bit depressing.

You cannot buy a 2 bed in Cambridge for under half a million? I haven't looked but that sounds quite tough to believe.

This is the closest to 500k in Inverness. With the "offers over" system it will probably go for a lot more.

I thought that area got a lot more sensible due to oil prices over the past year or two...?
Or is that specifically Aberdeen?

Good old estate agents; never let the truth get in the way of a good advert.
