A few months back I upped our DD to £140 a month, with the idea to cover the increase in energy costs.

Only a small 2 bed semi, and we're in £400 credit. Bulb emailed yesterday to say they're lowering my DD to £92 a month.

For the time being I'm better off each month with the £67 we get from the support scheme hehe

We have built up 1300 in credit and i was going to take it but for now id rather leave it as a form of protection for next years increases, hoping that with what we have we get at least another year on the same dd by which time im hoping its calmed down a bit.

Must be nice! My electricity is going down by 0.07%! (33.029p to 33.006p).

I’m sure they’re only doing it so they can say, “we passed on lower prices to save you money X times in 2022…”

Same.

We're increasing our electricity unit rate from 35.982p to 36.448p per kWh and we're keeping our electricity standing charge the same at 48.596p per day.

We're keeping our gas unit rate the same at 10.344p per kWh and our standing charge at 28.484p per day.

Your prices are in line with the Government Energy Price Guarantee, which ensures a typical UK household pays an average of £2,500 per year. This will save a typical UK household around £900 this winter

Just in to my inbox (and I'm sure yours too but I thought I'd keep the story up to date on here)...

Bulb said:
Let me be the first to welcome you to the Octopus family.

Last night – at 11:58pm – Octopus purchased Bulb's energy supply business. I dearly hope this brings an end to over a year of uncertainty, and provides a good solution to UK taxpayers, the Bulb team, and, of course, to you.

I'm serious about that. For years, Bulb has stood for good value green energy with outstanding customer service. These are precisely the values Octopus was founded on, and you have my personal commitment we will deliver on them.

In terms of what happens next: we'll work hard to make this as straightforward and simple for you as possible. You'll still be supported by the same dedicated Bulb team and if you need anything simply contact Bulb, just as you usually would.

Over the next few months, we'll transfer you to our award-winning energy platform: you don't need to do anything.

There's no change to your supply and your balance will automatically transfer to Octopus. If you pay for your energy by top-up, your top-ups are working as normal. If you pay by Direct Debit, we'll move that over to Octopus at the appropriate time, so you won't need to lift a finger.

We'll let you know when your account is moving across to Octopus systems, and we'll share your new account details and help you get set up. Until then, you'll still be able to use your Bulb account and app, just as you have up to now.

If you want to keep up with how the process is going, we'll be refreshing our blog post regularly with the latest updates. You'll also find the legal details about the sale process, known as an "Energy Transfer Scheme", in the attached notice.

Kind regards,
Greg Jackson
Founder, Octopus Energy

PS. You may have read reports in the press about some of the legacy suppliers contesting the purchase, through a process called Judicial Review. Whilst that process rattles its way through the courts, we're determined to do all we can to make sure Bulb customers are not affected and will work unbelievably hard to deliver a smooth transition for you, and for Bulb's staff.

PPS. If you've experienced any service issues, rest assured that we'll work hard to resolve them as soon as possible. That will be much more straightforward once your account is on Octopus systems - so please do bear with us until then.

I've had the payments on 1st October, November and December, nothing showing yet for 1st January but I'll keep an eye on it now this week.

Had mine today too. Maybe delayed by a day because of all the bank holidays?

Saw something today about a £200 grant in February applied to households who don’t use gas.
There’s no mains gas in my village so assuming we would receive this. Anyone else aware?
