Show us your......lawnmower !
Discussion
I know that having 3 ride-ons is a bit ott, but there is 5 acres of lawn to cut. The LT166 on the right did well for the first few years but got little use once I got the larger triple cylinder Ransomes. I just got the Zero-Turn mower on the left last year and although it doesn't have the same width of cut, it is soooooo fast that it does the job in about the same time... almost like cutting grass with a real go-kart.
Nice fleet Renmure. Is the triple garage purely for your lawn equipment?!
My fleet is as follows:
1x Bosch Rotak for the fiddly bits by the entrance and where the cars park. Also, having an electric lawnmower helps me keep in touch with my feminine side.
1x Hayter Heritage 13/30 to do the main lawn quickly (half acre).
1x Hayter Harrier 56 for when I want to get all formal and stripey.
In my dream garage I would have a Kubota GR2120, but my lawn isnt big enough to justify it.

Plastic deck McCulloch job, Brigg'n'Strat engine, cost ninety quid from Argos about 7 years ago. Cheap, cheerful and thus far has required nothing more than a new pull cord last year and the blade sharpening on the bench grinder 3 or 4 times.
Might even go crazy and service the engine one day!
Looks like this except for general grubbiness:
I've got one of those too - had it for same amount if time. Its needed a carb diaphram kit (ran very rich and kept hunting) and the deck has been patched with ally due to hitting kids die cast toys that were left in the grassMight even go crazy and service the engine one day!

What's that engine? It looks familiar but I can't work out why! It's a Villiers two stroke on a Ransomes Junior mower circa 1950. Before Health and Saftey legislation and the Child Protection act had even been thought of I had one of these when I was a kid cutting grass for pocket money and it's the first engine I worked on.
Wide open that'll still go faster than I can run...

Villiers, that's the badger!Wide open that'll still go faster than I can run...
My old boy was groundsman at the local cricket club he played for when I was a kid. I never liked cricket but always found the machinery fascinating. They once picked up a mower powered by one of these Villiers engines at one point, and I recall it never actually worked - it was a freebie at the very end of it's life, in a terrible state and stubbornly refused to start despite days of tinkering. Odd looking thing conpared to the B&S/Honda/Suffolk engines on the other machines.
Logic 150 flail for the paddocks. Annoyingly, I did the small paddock the other day and it conked out. The engine has today been removed and collected by the garage as the B&S V-twin has blown both head gaskets - the crankcase pressure then filled the carb with oil. It should be ready in a couple of weeks provided parts are not hard to get.

This is my new Toro 4 in 1 mulcher. So much better than the crappy MTD thing I had previously. The MTD never used to collect properly and never cut very evenly either.
I also have a Hayterette which I use for bits where the flail won't go.
Great thread! US Army mower wins though
Mine is a 15 year old "Performance Power" thing with a Briggs and Stratton engine. It refuses to die.
I'd love a tractor mower but my garden is on several levels and no one part is big enough to justify it. It would save me so much lugging of stone and rubble though.
