Looks great - love the colour and the ingenious storage solutions for the bikes. Good effort!

An update of sorts. Overall I am happy with the paint work, but the floor has started to peel up where the wheels sit. I guess I didn't prep properly.

Other than that, it is fine. No dust anymore which is nice.

I keep my Scooby in this garage now, and it is a bit of a tighter fit than the '5:

So, to help me get out without bashing the doors, I got some cushioning off an old headboard. I was originally going to put some carpet up, but it would have looked naff.

Comments and suggestions welcome, especially if you know how to stop my floor peeling!

It can also be a reaction with the silica in the tyres to the paint.

I've got 4 square carpet tiles under my wheels (about £3 each from B&Q).

The thing to do now is to apply paint where the patches are, put the tiles down whilst the paint is wet (so they effectively stick to the floor) then paint the rest of the floor .

I did this over 6 months ago and the tiles are still in place.
That sounds like a good idea, as it will help me with the parking too.

Unfortunatly with tamped concrete you'll allways get high spots which, when painted, will wear no matter how many coats you apply.
Now you know roughly where the tyres are going to be parked, why not use a chisle/bolster and tidy up the concrete, repair and paint again?.
An idea for the future....

What about these:

I'm considering flooring my garage in these to avoid having to paint it, am I kidding myself that the concrete floor won't kick up dust with these tiles on top of them - will be using the garage for parking the car in and for a bit of working on the car.
Could be a good idea, but not sure about how well it would dry out if it got wet underneath.

If you are worried about dust, just coat in a PVA water mix first - it worked brilliantly on my garage, and does not alter the look (i.e. not shiny).

Ideally I would seal it, but I can't really be bothered (it's 5.5m by 2.7m and I've just spent a weekend trying to get a good coat of paint on the old style breeze block walls with a surface like a honeycomb) and there's a lot of crap in there that needs to be chucked out, so I either have to wait until I get a chance to empty the garage before I seal it, or I can tile in the space that's available and then can shift stuff onto the tiles I've laid and finish the job and get it done in the next week or so.
I wouldn't worry about the size of the garage as the mixture is so easy to apply, it just slops on and then dries transparent. But yeah, you will need to clear the crap out, and get rid of the existing dust.
