The longest drill I have is 400mm and it's not quite enough. Chances on drilling from both ends and meeting up are approx nil, so I'm going to look for a longer drill. If I get that then it may go right through and not need rods, but if not I'll drop you a PM.

I have over metre long 10mm drill bits from a previous job. Im about any evening or most week days monday to thursday.

Cheers Richard, that would be great. My hope would be that a long drill will be able to find a route through and pop out somewhere above the soffit, then it's job done. I've put the soffit back up at present but I'll drop it again, and let you know, if you wouldn't mind dropping by with a 1000mm drill it's probably just a 5 minute job (famous last words!).
