That's not enough insulation in there. Put more in or overboard it with another 50mm of celotex before plasterboarding would be my advice.

Thanks but it's fine - 100 mm pir plus superfoil sf19+ below the rafters (not shown in that picture). U value of about 0.15 by my calculations (if you believe the superfoil performance anyway).

The house is huge but they have cut corners throughout so I'm now making up for it!

I think there are fire regs implications associated with exposed structural beams. Might be worth checking those if you want to be totally to standard?

If so, it will almost certainly be a case of "not to current standards". My house is relatively new, even in mine and with a boiler installed in 2005 the boiler service tech has 2 or 3 "not to current standard" items that he is obliged to note but that aren't required to be fixed to make it safe.

Not here - roof structure is never protected, unless it supports a means of escape above.
+1 agree to shock of no insulation in there from c.2002. Not right at all.
