If you have a smart meter the best electric tariff on Octopus will be Go/Go Faster (designed for EVs), ~15p peak or ~5p offpeak (4hrs) depending upon your region. If you switch you'll lock in for 1yr.
I do. It does look like Go is the best one for me currently. Works out around 4p a day more on standing charge then I currently have. But roughly same unit rate. So will switch to that at the end of the month.

I went with flexible for my gas and for elec moved from Octopus Go to Go Faster.
Go Faster is by invitation so you need to call up and ask if you can have it.
Go = 5p/hour 12;30 am to 4;30 am
Go Faster =
4.5p/hour for 3 hours
5p/hour for 4 hours or
5.5p/hour for 5 hours.
However, you can have a different start time of between 8:30pm and 12:30am.
I chose the 8:0 5 hours so I can charge my and run dishwashers etc at the low rate.
The other hours are @ 16.5p which is only 1p more than last year.
We have just had a wonderful email from Outfox. As an electric only bungalow with two separate air source water/heating systems this is not good news as we use around 14,000KwH per year.
Current Price 15.907p
New Price From 09/10/2021 23.518p
Electricity Standing Charge (price per day) 17.598p goes to 0.000p
Current cost £2,358.72
Estimated Annual Cost From 09/10/2021 £3,392.35
Change in Cost £1,033.63
Are there any good suggestions for a supplier that has had their rise and are not likely to move again?

As others have said Octopus Go has some of the best rates currently (~15p per kwh), so around what you are currently paying and you will lock in for 12 months. You could potentially save more by increasing usage in the 4hr offpeak window maybe if it was possible to programme the ASHP systems to run at full power/consumption during that time as it is only 5p kwh.Current Price 15.907p

So EDF finally came out to sort my meters after almost 6 months of chasing. I've now got working smart meters.
Gas meter won't connect but to be fair the manager assigned to my case had been extremely helpful.
Just received a message on my account stating that they cannot connect to my gas meter, probably due to the distance from the leccy meter.Gas meter won't connect but to be fair the manager assigned to my case had been extremely helpful.
I can't believe this is serious... I don't live in a mansion and the gas meter is about 5m around the corner away from the gas meter.
My last smart meters connected just fine.
The gas meter now displays reading (reset from zero), but I cannot submit unless asked to.
So I have got new smart meters, but still can't submit gas readings. Not happy bunny

Annoying my fixed rate from Octopus is up at the end of this month.
Do they offer you a new tariff or do you just have to in to account and klick change my tariff. As all that shows is the standard rates. Do they have better options if you call ?

Look back over some of my posts, getting working smart meters was like having teeth pulled. The biggest issue seems to be getting the gas to talk to the electric. I fully believe they know full well there is an issue, I can promise you it won't be the 5m distance between the two!
Fair enough, at least my last monthly payments are a bit reasonable now. Starting to see credit instead of £250 each month. The manager on the case (who was brilliant) also seem to have gone AWOL 😊

I just got an email from Utility Point informing me they’ve ceased trading as of today. Given I was just over 1k in credit which they said in June they would refund back to me within 60 days, that’s not the most welcome news!

But found this: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2021/09/uti...
Says credit balances will be protected.

Glad to see my credit is protected. Now to start shopping around again.

They’ve been doing this to people for the last couple of years. Promising refunds and then giving out a list of meaningless excuses when you complain that it has not arrived. I eventually got my money back after finding the email
Addresses for all their big bods thorough a Facebook group called “utility point owes me a refund”. I sent them a shotgun style snot-o-gram and had my money back in a few days.
I guess the cessation of trading makes things a bit difficult, but might be worth joining that group for some info.
Also with Utility Point. luckily managed to get some money back couple of months back but they have around £300 credit.
there is a whole facebook group of people trying to get there money back before going tits up. only reason i stayed is my deal ended and they put me on one that was cheaper and it never went up.

Thanks, have joined the group.
Ironically it looks like now they’ve failed, it’ll be easier to get credit back from the supplier who takes on UP’s customers. British Gas hoovered up the customers of the two providers who went pop last week, I guess Ofgem will probably give this week’s two casualties to them too…with an initial eye watering tariff no doubt.

Whats he best plan here? Stick & see where it goes or cancel the DD & bail out ASAP?Ironically it looks like now they’ve failed, it’ll be easier to get credit back from the supplier who takes on UP’s customers. I think I'm a few quid in credit, but probably less than 100.
The advice from ofgem and other consumer websites seems to be to wait to be switched and then the new provider will refund any owed credit. You can cancel the dd to make sure they don’t snatch anymore (I have), your new provider can set up a new dd.
Domestic credit seems to be safe.
It remains to be seen what the process will be to reclaim credit from the new provider, and what exorbitant rate tariff you’ll have to pay whilst you wait for that process to complete before you can switch…:-/

I had only just signed up to a new tariff which actually doesn't start for another 2 weeks so I'm thinking why wait for something which is unlikely to be any better than what I can find in the market now & just bail out ASAP. I would think I will be pretty close to all square by the time I can get switched.(DD is indeed cancelled
