Before he moved to an OAP gulag recently, my dad had a flat on the main A12, you barely notice the traffic after a while

But train lines may be different

Flat shaking is different from noise.

And no doubt in the shuffling of off-plan sales and resales of off plans, some folk will make money and some folk will lose a fortune.

I'm sure the upkeep costs will be ahem, 'challenging'. But this seems an awful lot of house for £2m in a nice part of East Sussex.

Rather nice isn't it... and although the agent says it's for renovation from the pictures it looks in reasonable shape.

Staggering.

84 acres of Sussex for 2 mil does seem cheap.

I assume it needs millions spending on it, with all the grief being grade 1 listed involves being a fun bonus.

Haremere Hall - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/8834008/Bar...

"now in need of serious renovation" - "Haremere Hall needs renovation, the agents agree, with the roof the area likely to be most in need of urgent repair. Estimates of the costs involved vary substantially, but a budget of £1–2 million would probably go a long way to restoring the fabric of this remarkable house, with perhaps the same amount again needed to furnish it in the style to which previous owners of Haremere Hall have historically been accustomed" - http://www.countrylife.co.uk/news/property-news/ro...

That ticks all of the boxes for me. Can you wrap it up and stick it under the tree for me?

And as a antidote to all that modern hoof-huss glass and nonsense I would be very happy to live in this exceptionally charming Arts and Crafts home.

http://www.primelocation.com/for-sale/details/3495...

4 acres of gardens, a further 16 acres of fields, 5 oak framed garages, a snooker room, a pool, stables, workshops and the chap's architects office would be an ideal place to house a small car collection, automobilia and stuff. That, it's near the coast and it's close to Goodwood, what more could a chap want for £3.5m biggrin

If its a castle you want but you don't have £M's, start with a chalet bungalow on the side of a dual carriageway (Apr 09)

Replace the wooden fence with a castellated wall (Sept 12)

Add a turret and some more castellations to the house (Sept 14)

and then maybe..............a moat?..........a drawbridge.............?

Who knows, but the kids love going past it to see what else has been added!
Been watching this for a while! Quite funny

Oh my. That is beautiful. I'll take this over any number of sterile London pads with their design-by-numbers decor.

But Grade 1 and in need of restoration = serious wallet pain, and the authorities breathing down your neck. I doff my cap to the lunatic who takes it on smile
