I don’t know why it’s so bad tomorrow. It’s been windy, it’s been sunny, so what gives?
It's not windy. Sun is average. Lots of gas power plants unavailable for various reasons.

Could be a common occurrence over winter, wholesale prices for tomorrow are high but not surprisingly so.

One of the reactors at Heysham is unexpectedly offline, so the grid is 550MW down. Plus it’s not very windy

And loads down for maintenance. Is this all Covid related?

Bad day tomorrow! Kids are having cold dinner hehe

At least it can't go any higher that 35p.

We have had to implement our emergency backup procedure - cooking tea on the gas hob tonight.
Only 2.67p/kWh.

Plant trips are not that unusual, Sizewell tripped at the weekend too. Back online for today though.

Not Covid related except Sizewell 2 which is off at the request of National Grid, the others are a mix of refuellers, graphite inspections and statutory outages. And dungeness, which is just a bit broken.

Interesting.

Is that middle-of-the-night price of about 5p reliable on Agile? Almost always there or thereabouts?

I'm on 'Go', to charge the electric car, but if Agile is essentially the same in those early hours, it might be better to switch.

I should be able to cajole our Tesla Powerwall to carry us though that painful 30+p evening shift.

I would say 95% of the time yes.

Yeah, even past 7pm. Think this is the worst day of the year so far. Fortunately tomorrow is a bit better, and come the end of the month I believe some nuclear contributions should be going back up.

Yes been a bad week so far, the big array just off the Coast near barrow was idle @teatime, a bit more wind would be good.
However Agile is working for me so far, we just make sure we run dryer and washer off peak hours, the worst consumer remaining is the oven 2 or 3 days a week for tea.

Of course the house load pales into insignificance if we were using the I-Pace more. I looked at octopus go, but wanted dthe practicality of more charging hours a day. Anything thats better than 13p standard tariff is good.

Because Ben Lowden has already stated that they are not allowed as it breaches the rule of posting No.6 which states:-
