I quite like this, HDR images excluded. The location ain't great though. And matt black basins? They'd never be clean of toothpaste!

Yes it's rather nice. I'd have to get rid of the down lighters; they're not my thing.

Not really - they didn't want to run a B&B! He's a successful architect iirc. There was also the small matter of a fecking enormous wall collapsing as they removed the rubble from the ground floor.

It's also even "worse" than Grade 1 listed - it's a scheduled ancient monument!

One of my very favourite though. Went on the market a couple of years ago (in theory turning a nice profit) but got pulled from sale.
Those were kind of implicit in my 'all considered' hehe

Slightly more concerning are the 'Seismic' rooms.

And W, exactly, TF is a 'Former Receiving Room'? Presumably it's 'Goods Out' now...

I tend not to like huuuuge places (the grandparents had one and I got the education about the never ending cleaning/repairs/maintenance/having people around the house to do stuff).

That however, is very very nice.

Truly awesome, and a bargain at £1.5m (imo). I know the area well too.

Probably needed a lot of work. This was a few years before, add a decade or two of further neglect.

I like the bathroom.

Otherwise yuck - as a dwelling, anyway.
It is a cool bachelor pad. Not many women are going to be happy living there, surely? First long term relationship and you'll be moving or remodelling.

(assumes heterosexual binary relationships. no offence meant to those of other sexual orientations or preferred genders)
I can't check just now - but other than it being in Birmingham, I'm pretty sure my better half (very much a woman!) would be just as happy as me there.
Have you checked the surrounding area? Look at the streetview

I'd imagine as really it needs the wedding business to be viable?

Lots of awkward bits that really are only any use for either wedding/corporate type stuff (storerooms, staff loos, etc.) - or if you have a tonne of staff!

The wall collapse struck me as being rather too serendipitous - it removed a chunk of the interior that made it (to my eyes) easier to rebuild. The fact that the collapse was recorded on camera seemed (to me, at least) to provide overly convenient evidence for the difficult discussion with English Heritage. I could, of course, be completely wrong (the building was certainly unsafe before they started).

I really like this one.

Anyway - I think this has been posted before:

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prop...

So, while looking for more detail on this one as it does not seem to appear on Google Maps, I found this - which disappointingly is now UO, but likeable all the same!!
