Not an attractive frontage.

Architect must be good at prisons.

I quite like this for a bit of contemporary living in a lovely area of Northumberland. Price looks a bit steep for Oop North money but I'm a bit out of touch with house prices at the minute. Still, probably get a bit more for your money than in the South East!

Bullet point one "Architect Designed"

As opposed to all those designed by children or built by builders wearing blindfolds?

Having looked at it, why would you choose to eat in the entrance lobby? Or make the rooms too small.

Having watched this thread for some time, I think "architect designed" is really code for "designed by children, built blindfolded"

:/
Oh, and there's far too much moss in that lawn.

Aren't most houses designed by architects, isn't this what they do?

The dining hall idea seems to be a current trend. I’ve seen plenty of new builds/renovations in this mould with the dining area in the hall and/or with the stairs heading up from it. I don’t know whether it’s a feeble attempt to fill space created by a poor design or some trend for enormous halls that you then need to fill with something. Whatever it is, it’s ridiculous.

Visited Lamorna Cove earlier in the year and had a very nice cream tea. Did not know it was for sale.
Not sure how well I would sleep with all that stacked up behind the house though.

Probably most, but by no means all. You have to be a qualified architect to use the term; that’s why you’ll see alternatives like ‘architectural designer’, ‘architectural technician’, ‘architectural technologist’ etc where the designer isn’t a qualified architect. And plenty of them design houses (to vary degrees of success). I suspect estate agents frequently use the term ‘architect designed’ without realising (or caring about) the distinction.

I was having a bad day at my old work one day, and in the canteen I asked which home the "home made flapjack" was made in.

And kept asking, until they took the sign down. Normally I just post about these petty grievances on PH, but I'd just had enough that day.

Not much in the way of pictures, but 286 acres of Devon sounds pleasant enough, and it's not THAT bad for being in the middle of nowhere...

Apart from the obligatory tennis ball launcher to exercise the dog, are you referring to the medium sized static caravan holiday park that partially surrounds the property???

hehe

To be fair, they've done a pretty good job. Until you turn up to view the property, of course.

It wouldn't necessarily put me off, but I'd want to know about the ownership of the rest of the land around the house, and find out about the noise restrictions at the site. If it was a site that specialised in "Holidays for £10 in the Sun", and the associated clientele, then I'd run a mile. If it's more aimed at the outdoor crowd, they'll mostly be knackered and asleep by 20:30.
