The MCBs for domestic consumer units are all type B anyway. I was horrified to recently find the, "improvements" made by Eaton with their new range are not interchangeable.
You could have probably sourced a type C for your old consumer and unit.
Probably, but it would have meant a lot of scratching around ebay etc and for the sake of £60 for a new lot, might aswell. You could have probably sourced a type C for your old consumer and unit.
Still - nearly there. Will be down to screw fix in the morning and hopefully will be up and running in the afternoon.

Without re-reading the whole thread, what are you now hoping this new chap to do?
Well I asked the last one to work out how to re-wire the roaster to single phase. I now have the correct type of 3 phase converter. All I need this one to do is work out why the RCCB incomer is tripping when I try to turn it on.Well, this is quite a moment.
After 4 months of continued set backs, last night - we finally got the roaster fired up.
The consumer board had a wire in the wrong place, sparky fixed it instantly. But was still tripping when we turned the converter on. Sparky could'nt understand why and after a lot of chin scratching left for home. At this point I truely contemplated cutting my losses and just sacking the whole thing off (at the cost of thousands).
Cold and defeated I had everything packed up ready to go home and cry. Something made me remember the strange blue trip switch on the front of the converter, for which I don't understand it's pusrpose. I've tried starting it before in both 'on' and 'off' positions, both ways it had tripped the RCB. So I had kept it set at 'off' to prevent it trying to draw any further current.
'Screw it!' I thought, I'll just try once more with this switch flicked to on, it'll probably blow the house MCB but it's the last throw of the dice'. It was at that moment I went from zero to hero in the few seconds that it took me to realise the lights were still on and the converter was whirring away!
With Hindsight of course it should have been set to 'on' but for some reason setting it to 'off' causes the 32A MCB in the house to trip - weird right? In anycase, I still needed the new consumer unit and 'c' type MCB so it wasnt all a waste.
We quickly got the gas hooked up and we were away. I'll get some photos put up in a few days so you can see what 4 months of frustration and ball ache looks like.
Cheers!
Chris
