My house had a bit of an odd set-up, in that the shower stall had an aluminum sliding door, out into the back yard - the idea being you could access the shower from my pool deck without trailing a big puddle of water through the house. It was horrible and was also an easy breach-point for a break in, so I closed it up and put a glass wall in, which is a lot more secure.

Excuse my 'verticals', it's not really pissed.

This is ground floor on a concrete slab. My building regs require a min 4 inch curb for a walk-in shower.
How does that work in a wet room smile

I'm not sure, but I suspect you need to have some kind of raised threshold below the door to contain water/prevent flooding.

Zygalski, what did you go for in the end?
We're looking at doing a similar shower enclosure down one wall (ie three sided) and was wondering about the practicalties of it
probably a 1400mm tray with either walk-in at one end as in the pic below, or with a doorless-door (as it were as in your first pic)

The yellow is actually a lot paler than it appears in the foreground - but it's Florida after all - we enjoy a bit of color.

No work done on it yet. We've sorted a few other things & hopefully the bathroom will be done by the summer.

that's some advance planning. We're only now finalising stuff and the builder is here in two weeks!

I like the one above. I guess with a rain shower pointing straight down you don't have to worry so much about spray escaping

NickGibbs do you know the manufacturer of the enclosure in your photo?

We are just looking at upgrading our bathroom an that looks good.. Some we have looked at appear to be cheap monkey metal on the brackets.

We have exactly that shower setup in out ensuite, except the taps are located where you walk into the shower. Having them placed there is a bit ridiculous.

Wondering whether it's a bit of a squeeze to get in wall-side!

That looks smart!
We've decided to go with Kudos panels for the shower enclosure. Just under £800 for two glass panels, longest one 1400mm, plus tray and fixings. About half that Novellini one

Bathroom fittings have started invading my dreams (and of course they're following me around the bloody internet)

Really like that matty g. Would you mind if I asked the details of your floor/wall tiles?

OP, have a look at my thread here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Lots of really nice examples above but lots seem to suffer from the the same design oversight. They look lovely when they're empty and have no real storage. If, like me, you live with a woman, they come with a LOT of products, let alone all he cleaning products and the spare bog rolls. If, like me, you have kids, there are toys and yet more products to consider.

Small ensuite wetroom I did recently, size was 7 x 4.6ft from memory. Wallhung loo and semi pedestal sink, plus wetroom tiled shower area certainly help make the most of the space. Tiled boxing and shower cubby provide enough storage, without having wire baskets and holders cluttering up the place. Couldn't resist the downright in the shower cubby! biggrin

Looks great.

How deep is the sink and the enclosed unit?

The sink is a Roca 'Gap' and was 450mm wide x 420mm deep. Nice thin edge means it feels more than big enough for the size of the room. The boxed enclosure was around 230mm deep from memory.
