Anyone built their own 'fixed wall' bookcase? advice please

I'll add mine to the mix - completed this for the boys room just before Christmas. Almost all from pine. Cost me about £250 not including the lights.

Pics are just as I was finishing installing so it's a bit tidier now (and yes, that is a toy shotgun on the desk!)







(ETA: sorry - the pics came out a bit rubbish)

May I ask, where did the two base cabinets come from?

One point to the OP - almost all the examples shown are floor based - books are heavy and whilst you could fix shelving direct to the wall for this, it's much easier if you can to direct the load into the floor. Fix the shelves to the wall as well for sturdiness absolutely but maybe look at building around the desk rather than just over it.

I plan to go to the floor for sure and 'rest' the middle sections on the rear of the desk. beer
