Mines in its early stages of conversion. It's a barn that I'm splitting in half. New opening for the workshop. With a roller door.
Renew the roof tiles while adding velux Windows.

Inside will have a four post lift (4ton) log burner and fridge. I should have enough height to get my truck on it and raised.

Work in progress
.

This is my snoozy summer sleep out.

Sorry this should be the first pic.

This is my fairly humble escape zone by comparison. Its a detached garage so does generally afford me the luxury of uninterrupted pottering.
Half the garage is workshop and the other half for storing/fixing the money-pit.

My place of escape...

And once I've spent quality time in there, I resort to this...

I think we need more info on this. I hope I'm not disappointed and that the upstairs space is the man room I'm imagining.

A hole!!! I'll have you know it's a Dragon Gate.

This will please our post Brexit, new Chinese overlords and my family will be spared the slave mines.

Plus, it's useful for getting the cars out that side of the house. And I guess the orange car does breath fire, albeit out of its arse but that aspect probably appeases an Indian god and Birmingham is about an hour away so another box ticked.

If you're imagining a currently bare space in need of wall insulation and the floor blanketed with the corpses of a million crate flies that had an outbreak last week then I guarantee you will not be disappointed. biggrin

I've been issues an edict from the Home Office that our land locked family bathroom that currently has a window into the upstairs living room and is on the list to be migrated to another room with less exciting views is the higher priority.

To be honest, I don't really know what to do with the space so I'm going to leave it for the time being. We've got a games room, a tv room and an office and so far the only idea I've had is for a gun range. biggrin

I already put up a thread with the details but here’s my partially finished sanctuary.

DA, why didn't you put the tvr into the "inside" garage? I imagine it was a conscious decision. Are you planning any doors on open bays?

Hi. The right hand section was designed as a workshop and storage area. The aperture is not actually wide enough for a modern car.

It's currently used for these cars, which fit much more easily:

I've contemplated adding doors to the main bays but I'm not sure it would have any benefit.
