Yep, whilst some of the current schemes run by the major homebuilders are great and entirely above board, I think mortgage lenders are understandably wary of being stung by some of the seriously shonky deals in recent history...

...Ie BTL mortgages arranged by "friendly" brokers, and various scamming including "discount" on price valued by "friendly" valuers...

Now look, the BTL scam in eastbourne was only 500 properties over 2 years, and only 40-50mill in value.... how can anyone be expected to spot teeny tiny amounts of blatant fraud like that hmmm?

builder deposits are alright, its vendor fdeposits that really get their hackles up....depending on lender.
