I went blue....

Lets see if I regret not going red later... for what I want it for it looks good and it comes with the 5.0 batteries instead of the 4.0 which I kind of was drawn to in the end.
It has the 110min charger.

Anyone recommend a brand of long life blades ?
Also a little compressor that I needed for a job, Not the most powerful but its almost silent in operation.

Have a look at Power Tool Mate, both the website, Facebook pages and EBay shop. They are usually just about the cheapest for Milwaukee, or very close to it. I think they price match too. The only trouble with them is their prices are not aligned between EBay and with their own site so you have to check both to get the best deal.
They are my go to for Milwaukee. As you say, they are rarely beaten on price. I’m never going to add up how much I’ve spent with them so far! Now waiting for Milwaukee to bring out a lawnmower.FFX and Howe Tools also seem to appear on my credit card from time to time, mainly Makita stuff. In fact FFX sold me one of the new 40v circular saws recently. Very nice bit of kit, but I do wish that Makita had followed DeWalt’s approach to batteries and allowed higher voltage ones to be backward compatible with older tools.

Where do you buy acetylene after the apocalypse though? BOC will be nothing but rubble and rotting corpses.

Nope, all about the same in my experience. I've tried loads.dewalt multitool - https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-dcs355d2-gb-18v-...

Usually get either Saxton or Antler blades from ebay, they're reasonably priced.
If anyone's got any other recommendations I'm interested, but tbh the way these blades work they'd have to be really specialised (and expensive) in order to last any longer. Basically just treat them as the disposables that they are.

I get the cheapo Amazon ones. They are 10% the cost and probably 50% as good as the Makita ones. dewalt multitool - https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-dcs355d2-gb-18v-...

Wash you mouth out with soap. I got lambasted for suggesting occasional DIY’s need not buy the makita set of everything. I recently had the pleasure of purchasing and using a cordless plunge/track saw following the chat in this thread and being Makita (I'm in their battery system) that came with a Makita blade. I will never ever consider a cheaper blade for that. The finish that saw leaves on a laminated (and plastic wrapped) kitchen panel/worktop/anything else is absolutely brilliant! Literally a factory smooth finish.
So it's horses for courses really.
