All the windows and doors are different colours and it's pretty bland and lacking character inside. I'd also hate being so close to a wood but that's a pet hate of mine. View's nice but the house isn't anything special.
On balance I'm with you.

Is it woodland or forestry commission crop? Looks like it. Has a habit of disappearing overnight every few years.

I'm more of a coastal person these days but that's lovely.
Yeah, exactly that. There is a sex-pond, but I'm not DonkeyApple, so I'll allow it.
It’s a lovely house with an amazing vista. The fk bucket can be deported. biggrin

Neighbours of ours have their sex pond in their front garden which looks directly onto the sea. Unfortunately between the sea and their garden is common land and a coastal path where the whole village walks their dogs. Classy.

Agree about the design - pretty mundane and internally nothing special for £1.6m. Only thing in its favour is the location/spectacular views.

You're buying the location not the house here I think. Though the house isn't terrible.

Must be a 'thing'. We live in an AONB. Next door is the last house before vast, public open space; woodland heathland etc. with footpaths all over. They moved in and cut down tons of trees and shrubs such that from two publicly used footpaths (and yes, a good proportion of the village walk their dogs up there too) near their boundary, you can see straight into their hot tub. No idea why they'd not use a bit of screening of some sort, but they've actually cut back rhododendron cover.

Did they plant a pampas instead?

Nice but the people who can't drive down the lanes (in the summer) will soon take the edge off that location

I like the treatment of the outside spaces better than the inside (albeit I can see elements of our own kitchen in theirs (scale might be different wink )

Not really Real Estate Pawn like some recently but something seemingly reasonably priced that could be tempting for a move back to pastyland…..although it has been on the market for 18 months which would be a worry....

Extractor hood/chimney for the fireplace. the perspective is weird and makes it look like it's bigger, and by the wall.
