That Hutton Rudby one indeed is/was his house. He has a lovely collection of traction engines and fairground organs.

I think the Potto one was once a restaurant and country house hotel.
Correct. I recall pulling at the sixth form parties - Potto Hall. So some time ago !

(reference the house in Rightmove, not Mr Prestons house)

As there are few rules on this thread - how about a plot with PP already passed......

Picturesque Cotswold village - couple of pubs/shed loads parking/country views. The design counters what I would describe as stereotypical Cotswolds but for those who like modern...... (and I am resisting mentioning it looks like ISO containers on a stone wall)......

and the brochure:

Unless it's on Mars, then I don't really care.
Genuinely dreadful 'architecture' which shouldn't be allowed to be built any where on this planet.

HTH.

So what would you deem appropriate? What’s your idea of “Cotswoldy”?

Any chance someone can post some property pawn rather than a discussion of architectural merits?

They're still selling it. I'll try to get it in every few pages and then put my hand out for some commission. wink

I really can't get excited about that at all. I kept thinking "nice posh AirBnB"

I'll mention to them that you won't be booking a viewing.

Good man. Back in the room!

Don't want it though. Mainly because of the asking.

This would probably be a bit low on the ceiling height for me, but I like it all the same:

Other areas include a large orchard, a tennis court with pavilion together with a paddock areas and pond. A clapper bridge crosses the Wrey and leads onto the village cricket pitch which falls under ownership of the property. Wreyland manor provides all the magic of a well preserved historical house and all the comfort of a modern home. Gardening, tennis, swimming, fishing or simply listening to leather on willow, it is all there for you.
Nice.
