Something to do with the golf course across the other side of the village perhaps?
Yeah, but I'd want to turn up at the golf course in Bentagaya, wouldn't I?

A Huf Haus with cracking views (and not overlooked) 8 ) Might be a bit too Bauhaus/Germanic for some, but I like 'em.

Maybe it's just me I couldn't live with being so overlooked. You accept it as inevitable with cheaper properties but it would rule out anything at this presumed price level. It badly compromises what could otherwise be a pleasant outside space.
£2.5m to live on a corner plot that has the bear minimum of privacy?

I quite like that too. It's difficult to make them feel homely, but with some imagination it can be done.

Just walked past this one. Grand, cheap (in absolute terms), but not as usable as might be imagined, perhaps.

It's in Spalding... Each to their own etc, but I'd rather live in Kabul.
Really? Kabul?

If you don't like Spalding, that's cool, just say that.

Don't make yourself sound like a fking idiot by saying that you'd rather live in Kabul.

Spend 3m, market for 900k. Dollars that is, a "doomsday prepper" in the Nevada desert. With its own gold mine.

ETA it's actually only 850k, and comes with a workshop with car lift...

Wouldn't you make yourself sound more of an idiot by taking an obviously tongue in cheek comment as an actual opinion?

To qualify my assertion I should say I have never been to either Spalding or Kabul, apologies to residents of either place if I am wrong.

^ Yeah, that.

Also, WTF is the golf buggy going to be used for? It's not like you need it to get around the grounds.
Good Lord! Hadn't noticed that. The entrance to the golf club (West Essex) is a long way away along a road with no footpath. I played there recently and don't remember an access point by the tee and green closest to the lane opposite. Even so, that's way up yourself. This is Chingford / Sewardstonebury, not Sottogrande!

Apropos of Spalding, I have something of a soft spot for it having worked there for the last year. It's an interesting place to wander around, with a lot of high quality buildings, a sign of its former wealth (doing OK at the moment too, courtesy of some big employers), but I sense the dynamic of the town has changed significantly over the last 15 or so years with large numbers of migrants. Welland Terrace (link above) not listed I note - anywhere else it surely would be?

This still has a remarkable and very much under the radar collection:

The problem is that it’s just such a tough call. Spalding or Kabul.

Both were once lovely places but today both are now war torn between the two dominant local factions. It’s tough to decide which is more palatable, On balance I feel I fall in favour of Spalding on that front as maybe their civil war between enraged pensioners and the immigrant workers who have to do the jobs that those pensioners children and grandchildren refuse to do, such as caring for the elderly seems a bit easier to live with. But then Kabul has the lovely weather and a lot less inbreeding.
