Love that! A friggin' castle without being overly huge, nicely modernised and all set in a gorgeous location.

As already suggested, I've no idea which bit you'd live in. Although, the gatehouse looks nice. The rest of it looks like a National Trust discounted day visit complete with tour guide might be more fun.
Mind you this fact could swing it:

That's actually one of the few OMG amazing properties I've seen on this thread and I did laugh when I read the quote about Potatoes.
Am I being disingenuous in thinking the agent's ad is lacklustre? I mean it's kinda basic. Photos mainly long range exterior shots, no bedrooms, kitchen or bathrooms etc. Not many photos at all and most of them already on the internet. Unless it was the vendors wish for security reasons?
There's not even a boundary map outlining the acreage.
The drone footage is good though. I've used it for my house. Sets the scene.
I'm not particularly into horses but could that stable block be rented out? It's like an exhibition centre! Cleaner than one too!
I'm more of a cattle man so the cattle side of things sounds good plus nice beef!
You know you're posh when you've a Knights Templar church in your front garden. Not even mentioned in the ad!
Crazy.

Genius! I think you've struck gold. You could put the cattle slurry through a bio digester, I'm sure there'd be grants for that. In fact probably get paid to do it. Turn it into electricity and use it to power electric carts!
Oh the possibilities are endless.
If only I could afford it!

Looks like its up for circa £30million, not bad when you take into account it is described as refurbed to a high standard, plus the land, outbuildings and 19 other residential properties!!

Only six beds in the main house is surprising though.

Amazing property smile

sadly where I live 20-30m GBP would just buy one of the nicer ‘good class bungalows’ across the road (on around 0.4 acres. )

I rent...

Wow, that's rather special! cool My only cretique would be the small-ish outdoor garden space and it being a bit too over-looked for my own personal taste (not that that matters - I can't afford it!).

It's lovely but as a holiday home it doesn't appeal. I wouldn't want a townhouse as a second home abroad.

No,I thought that too, especially as the agents are going to get, what 0.25% £75k?
Not sold many properties for £30M so I'm not sure how low you can negotiate the fee!

Very nice, the open land opposite worries me though. Looks like prime residential fill in the gap land.

The field opposite, between Shoppenhangers Road and Ockwells Road has been designated for housing for the last 25 years. Nothing has happened and there is now a mature boundary of trees but it will inevitably be developed at some stage. It's a nice corner of Maidenhead and would be a great place to live but I wouldn't expect it to remain so nice in the ensuing 15-20 years. Don't buy it and expect to pass it on to your grandchildren as a country retreat!

I know most agents I've dealt with are 0.75-1% but I suppose they could negotiate lower or incentivise with a higher commission for higher selling price?
Although in reality the lack of details in the ad probably wouldn't put a serious buyer off and the details could be furnished in request during the legals.
At that level of the market it might just be bought by an oligarch sight unseen and never lived in.
Although the mega rich would rather blow £50m on a flat or townhouse in London than a £30m estate with 1000 years of heritage.

Which would you choose if you could only have one and money no object?
