Thanks

I'm working with a 450mm wide space and looking for sinks that don't look like they should be in a cloakroom.

Yeah, that's exactly the same reason why we went for this one http://www.uk.roca.com/catalogue/collections/#!/ba... it comes in various sizes, has a good 'square' profile so you aren't wasting space that isn't usable basin, and with a semi pedestal, rather than exposed waste, it doesn't look 'cloakroom' at all!

Really like that matty g. Would you mind if I asked the details of your floor/wall tiles?
They are from CTD (ceramic tile distributers)

Haha, the tiling under the sink?! There is an access panel to get into the plumbing, hence the tiling 'squaring' off. Due to the compact layout its not that noticeable, and looks worse in the photo, but I appreciate your point! biggrin

The tiling in general is a bit crappy but noticeably so between the sink and bog where the tiler hasn't even bothered attempting any kind of symmetry and just stuck in 2 random size bits of tile. The corners are the same - instead of cutting off the tile and using the remainder on the next wall to keep the dimensions uniform, they haven't and instead just stuck 2 tiny slivers of tile in the corners. Did you pay someone to do that for you?

The grey grout doesn't work either - just makes it all look full of dirt when it isn't.

would agree on the shower... I have an integrated shower and it was this one:

with 2 shower heads, modern version of these:

Don't think I spent anymore than £300 and its solid metal, none of this BS plastic with chrome that comes from bathstore.

I agree with this too. A nice contemporary job ruined by a £40 Screwfix 'special'. hehe

I'm intrigued as to how the door works. It appears to slide into a recess in the wall from the interior and exterior pics, but how did you manage to get inside the wall to install the runners/guide rails without removing the wall?

one would assume when the original tiles are taken back to the stud wall.

The wall was taken down & then built out on both sides, to both allow for the pocket door recess & mechanism & also the fit for the 1700mm shower tray. We didn't want a 20mm gap at the end.
I agree about the shower but we wanted something that didn't have a fixed head & was straightforward to replace, since modern units only seem to last a few years. Maybe we'll change it in future, but the bathroom cost about £9k & we had a lot of other work going on at the same time. We did all the flat roofs, gutters, soffits & fascias & also re-boarded the floor in the landing, re-plastered the ceilings & redecorated part of the house.

£9k for one bathroom?

Holy crap.

Mine was fitting of a wetroom at £2.8k and the rest was spent on the goods I wanted including:

expensive sink made of pebbles
Floor gres tiles floor to ceiling
Accent tile stripe made of same pebbles as sink
10mm glass show screen
full tanking so waterproof
Wet zone area created
middle range toilet and taps/shower.
circular towel rail.

Still didnt get above £8k

smile I am amused by the fact you chose to spend a lot of money on a sink full of beach pebbles but decided not be bother with any kind of shelf/holder for your shower gel/shampoos. smile

used a cheapo ikea suction pad doohickey as metal rusts eventually, bamboo rots eventually.... Aint no-one drilling a single tile in the area as they are bloody expensive and very very difficult to drill without cracking them.

Plus look again... that was before it was fully furnished with SWMBO crap, I think that might have been day 1 after it was complete 5+ years ago when we wanted the whole thing done before mirrors and other stuff got scattered around.

Walls & ceiling taken down, 80's wiring replaced, new pocket door & the carpentry work. The tiles were nearly £4.50 a pop & it all adds up. Sure, if you get mates rates & do it like homes under the hammer then I'm sure you could get what we had done completed for under £1500.

Looking at it, I reckon the towel rail needs to be the other side of the shower enclosure where there is more space.
Or under the window - a combination radiator/towel rail will heat the room properly (heating colder air from the window) and be handy for when you get out of the shower,
