I found this on our drive. What does it mean and should I be worried?

Sadly it's not bks.

If I didn't know for a fact that it happens, and more a case of hearsay, I'd be tempted to agree with you.
Care to share your facts?
Ok, I'll assume you're not trying to be one of those clever s.

Simple enough, our yard got broken into and when I met the police there the conversation turned to my dog sat in the truck.
Went on to tell me of two recent events where dogs were taken, one from a farm and one a private residence.
Both had markings to the front of their properties, not glaringly obvious.
So to answer your question, from the police...and not the plastic sort either.

smile
Were the markings a drawing of a dog.I think the OP has coy carp in his pond.

Having dogs stolen is a bit ruff fuff if you ask me and certainly a bit fishy in the OPs case.

I am not sure if you should be worried or not but think your wife will be happy.

If you are gay make sure you have a large tub of vaseline.

So, it was drawn on, at half past one in the afternoon by a middle aged, well dressed man. He walked up the drive and drew it on without looking at the car or in the house.

Still none the wiser, local religious nut spreading the message of Christianity? Who knows. I might pop into the police station later on and see if they know who it is or have any other reports.

I'm not that concerned, would like to know why someone would do such a thing though. confused
Suspicious - looks like it's been done with some accuracy to donote if vehicle has moved.

Well dressed midle aged chap is ideal spotter material (not as suspect).

I'd have a look around and see if there are others in you area.

I suspect seamen will be forcing their way through your backdoor.

I know the OP lives in Scotland, but even there it's a fair bet there are going to be some other well dressed middle aged chaps if he looks around the area?

Isn't this symbol likely to be about burglary or theft rather than robbery?

A fish-shaped sign warns that "the object" is protected by alarms.

I thought the fish symbol was to show that you can get the car keys through the letterbox using a fishing rod.

I know in Ireland they of the nomadic persuasion use them the mark house with dogs for nicking.

A quick bit of googling suggests it's a sex game signal. Apparently a fish on a driveway is the way for women to signify that any passing bloke is welcome to knock on the door if they want to deposit some of their little swimmers?

The same site suggests that using UV ink is a common approach, as men in the know can find it easily enough whilst leaving the luckless man of the house none the wiser.

It then goes on to say that as you'll never be able to get the UV ink off the paving, the best way to deal with it is to add a harpoon through the fish with your own UV ink.
Bet there are now lots of worried PH men saying, "I'm just popping to the car / garage dear" Do they use waterproof ink / chalk or whatever it is? And a few more looking down at the pavement while out walking the dog. biggrin
And more importantly, what symbol do you have to draw to get the *women* to come to you?

Maybe it's a Banksy. You should chisel it out and sell it.

How do we know this wasn't posted up by a friendly caravan dweller to fool us into scrawling a circle with an X through it on our drives?

I don't know if you can get the internet in a caravan, therefore it must be true.

Also, if this was done by our travelling friends, wouldn't the background be Tarmac and not brick?

Or is it a double bluff.................
