For convenience I always use the same supplier, they're two minutes down the road and usually deliver next day. Yes they're generally more expensive but I'd rather build a relationship knowing I can always get a delivery if I'm caught short.

5,000sqft open plan barn with galleried living room/dining room - so when the other half is cold and has both boilers at full chat we’re getting through serious amounts of oil. Thankfully it’s getting warmer out!

Surely there must be a far cheaper and efficient way of heating that vast space. Surely a heat pump and cylinder setup would be a lot cheaper.

That's the plan. From my limited research ground source heat pumps work well with wet underfloor heating, which we don't have. Need to spend a bit more time looking at alternatives as in the long term oil is only going to get more expensive.

I was just logging in to say the same thing!!

I ordered a week ago at 29p which is nearly the cheapest I'd paid (27p)

It's now 19p from the same supplier (The is East Anglia and OilNRG)

Crazy!

There must come a point when it’s not worth them supplying it - what with overheads and costs etc?

If only I’d taken up that offer to buy an empty cargo ship....

When I ordered my oil last month just as the talk off lockdown was being put around, my supplier said they were having issues getting stock as it was all being held offshore.

Think yourself lucky had our delivery on Tuesday cost was 38ppl today they are quoting 24ppl frown

North Yorkshire and also OilNRG, I wonder why there is a regional difference in the price.

28p/litre in NI, dropping but I wonder for how long? I have a spare plastic oil tank, might rig that up and get both filled if it goes much lower.

Most refineries are currently full of refined product. The storage tanks can't hold much more.

Looks like the prices have settled out. I just placed an order at 18.4p, crazy considering exactly a month earlier it was at 36.5p. I did see it go as low at 16p last weekend but was too slow to act on it. Now is definitely the time to buy.

Johnston oils are offering fixed pricing for the next 12 months. Price of oil is at a 4 year low apparently. Is this a normal thing ?

I've been on oil for 8 years now and I've never seen it this low(18ppl), I wished I had a bigger tank because I want to order more but I can't fit 500 litres in.
