My new favourite:

Good sized garaging for four cars, lovely plot, not too big, décor needs some updating, but nothing major.

Only down side is the A road out front...

Come on Euro-millions...
Nice towns around it (the five B's) and seems very toppy, I'll take the one in Rocombe before Harry gets there.

Agree, saw that a while ago on the Modern House's IG page and it is lovely. The floorplan is odd though, I think there is a granny / staff flat on the ground floor, so there's not as much living space as you would expect for a >4,000 sqft house.

I like this a lot too, but the lack of real garden makes it a no for me. Lovely styling and architecture though.

Clearly needs a bit of personalisation but it's a lovely starting point. Chuffing expensive though.

I live in Elmbridge but am not sure where that is. It's location is obviously a bit of a secret given that it is only listed as 'Elmbridge'.

The price could be right if it is in the 'right' place......or it could be very expensive!

I rather wish they had not extended their affixation with white paint to the outside of the building. Once painted the brickwork can never be recovered; a real shame because clean brickwork always looks better than acres of white Dulux Weathershield.

Agree with this, valid point.

I'll go against the grain on both of those - I find them utterly pretentious and at the same time soulless.
Both (but especially the first one) are statements rather than places to live and the proliferation of very average but very expensive art in the second one just confirms it to me - this is about style over substance.

What makes you say that? The London one doesn't do much for me but I could certainly imagine living in the Elmbridge one. It doesn't strike me as particularly impractical or overly fussy. By the standards of that area & price bracket, it's not "shouty" & doesn't suffer from a rash of naff columns and other McMansion features on the exterior.

I think it is hugely restrained for a close to £10m house. Which is what i like about it.

Bare walls, windows and floors mean it'll be (or feel) cold most of the year (single glazing won't help there either) and sounds will echo all round the house, also poor lighting as far as I can see.

Yes, you can put up curtains, add furnishings and carpets but then you'll ruin the aesthetic - which is the point I'm making really - make any additions or try to live in any kind of comfort and it'll just revert to being an ordinary Surrey villa.

Which houses are you talking about, presumably the Elmbridge one is the 2nd one but what's the 1st? confused

.
Its a period home, the windows would be ruined if double glazed. Personally i dont like fitted carpets in period homes either and i dont understand the modern obsession with surgical theatre grade lighting throughout homes, i like the changes and creation of shadows and shapes and tone brought by a variance in lighting.

It is of course entirely fine to think the opposite of me however!

I think I could be persuaded to agree on poor lighting, but as to the remainder I would be hugely surprised if those aren't doubled glazed sashes, and it would be totally in keeping with the style to put some rugs down.
