I like that a lot, but it's got to be more like £3M.thegreenhell said:

Looks great, didn’t get as far as checking the interior, saw the words County Durham, and just knew that it would cost a fortune to get a taxi back, after dining at Butlers Wharf on a Saturday night.FourWheelDrift said:
Lots of big houses in the close by area too. Also is the red long house on the river's edge the one that has been for sale (couple of years ago) that belonged to the Segway guy who fell off a cliff?
No that one was near this onehttp://www.croftresidential.co.uk/property/propert...
Located in the greatest county and owned by (probably in his own opinion) the greatest ever Yorkshireman
I sold properties in and around Winchester for a year, and was fairly shocked at some of our vendors expectations of what they would achieve for their asset.
The most expensive house we marketed was this one.

How about a bit of Art Deco in the Hampshire countryside? It needs some money throwing at it and some flowery things removed, but it could be pleasant little spot for a Pimm's or two.

Would love that or on a lesser scale this one near my parents: https://penarthnews.wordpress.com/2019/04/03/10000...https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prop...
However, the latter one is where Cardiff City players set up home....
Now demolished

There was a house very similar to this on the 17th green at Wentworth a few years ago. It was also demolished - but I believe without permission - which led to a long and protracted dispute.Escort3500 said:
What a shame. No doubt to be replaced by a gauche pile comprising numerous bi-fold doors, white rendered external walls, a completely white interior, huge abstract ‘art’ on the walls and a commercial kitchen that’ll be snapped up by a City player.
It was very obviously broken, to be fair - those deco houses are notorious for design & build issues with damp etc, but I too hope replaced by something half decent.Escort3500 said:

You forgot the plastic (sorry composite) front door and stone resin drive S1KRR said:
What I find interesting is that so few of these pawn places are in the major cities. London / Manchester etc.
Is the countryside the only place to get big, nice houses?
At a reasonable price, yes, some of the places on here that are priced between 1.75 mil, and 3 mil plus, would be 6 or 7 mil in Fulham or Putney, and 10 to 14 mil in Kensington or Notting Hill, or elsewhere in civilisation. Is the countryside the only place to get big, nice houses?
