Liking what you've done with the tiles.

Where are you storing the QuickJacks? I've got the wall hooks for mine.
Heath Robinson solution. Stainless screw loops and MTB pedal straps. They stand on the floor flush against the wall with very little strain on the strap.

I have the coin type (Plasfloor) and while there's a little bit of give in them I'd still want a kneeler or sommat if I was down there for long. Not as hard as concrete (apologies if that's just utterly obvious) but not exactly accommodating.

A colleague has the hatched diamond pattern and it's pretty painful to kneel on while I have the coin type that my bony knees find relatively comfortable. I did buy a pack of interlocking foam mats but don't find that I need to use them.

Tiles are much warmer and softer than concrete but for longer than a minute or two I will put down a couple of foam pads I have kicking about in the garage.I have the diamond pattern dyno-tiles.

Anyone have any experience of using a lift on something like the Plasfoor or similar? This is the type I'll be getting: https://www.sealey.co.uk/product/5637184722/25tonn...

I'll be putting a pool table the other side of the garage which I assume will be fine.
Not a lift, so this might not help. But I regularly use my large trolley jack and axle stands on my plasfloor tiles, and no impressions are left behind. Car is an S2000 so there’s about 300kg going through each axle stand and it leaves no marks. I jack it up using the central jacking points, so about 600kg is put down on the 4 small jack wheels into the tiles, and again there’s no damage. So I think the lift you’re looking at will spread the mass a bit more evenly and you won’t have issues.

Quickjack on mine leaves no impression, but that's the same as jacking and leaving the car on axle stands, and you'd have thought that the more concentrated weight in that situation would leave a mark ..... but no.

One the basis the ties are designed to go onto the floor, I really wouldn't bother

I'm fed up of my dust garage floor. So, what's the cheapest quickest thing I can put down, in stages so I don't need to leave everything outside overnight, to stop it?

I've heard PVA can be bad. So just brick paint? The floor is not great, lots of pits and ribs, so I plan on a proper floor, but won't do that for a while, so just want to sort the dust.

I used this (2 coats) before I put my tiles down as an extra thing to stop the dust. But without tiles, it completely stopped the dust alone. I was able to put stuff back on the floor in the evening and they didn’t glue to the floor! It’s so easy to apply. It’s thin and spreads easily. I applied it with a block brush.

Loving the thread and some of the solutions, so just adding my ten penneth on cheap solutions to overcome dusty floors; I went with cheap carpet tiles - I even went with seconds as they were half the price of the 'nice' ones.

Mine are blue and green (Alpina's old racing colours) each side and chequered down the centre - with the areas under the cars uncovered. I had just got fed up with walking dust into the cars and back into the house and after receiving a £2,500 quote for someone to come and paint the floor with that two pack epoxy I went for about £50 of tiles. In the end they accidentally sent too many tiles so I have loads of spares - I asked if they wanted to collect them but they said,'They're seconds mate, just have 'em as a brucey bonus'. I was lucky enough to size them around the cars so I have precise parking limits for each car.

I think SBR diluted appropriately and painted onto a previously cleaned and vacuumed concrete floor would help a lot.

Thanks, looks like what I need. says 25m2 per 5litres, sound about right?

Whats the finish like? will it take a car and not lift?

AJLintern, SBR did cross my mind, something I used for my patio, that stuff was tough! What ratio?

Looking into it, SBR can be used in a sprayer too, should make light work of the job!

Yeah the coverage stated is bang on from my experience. I applied it very liberally as well. I loaded the brush up and didn’t wipe off any excess, then put the brush straight on to the floor. It’s so thin you can then spread it around with ease. The finish makes the concrete look shiny and wet. It doesn’t look bad but I wouldn’t say it was a transformation! This stuff is very much a treatment rather than a covering.

As for the car. I’m not 100% sure on that. I parked my car on top of it about 3 hours after finishing the 2 coats. I put paper down first so that if there was any sticking it would be paper and not tyres! The following morning it had not stuck, but then I put the tiles down after so can’t comment on long term. However, I don’t think there’d be any lifting, because it’s a treatment product; it soaks into the concrete and seals it.

Are the cars still sat on concrete? Could get some of the garage floor matting from Costco or similar?

Don't waste your time with that if your garage is bigger than a single garage. I returned 3 rolls to Costco (which they happily took back even after cutting). They never sat flat, the joins at the side were not lined up, water would get down between the joins and cause moisture\mold and worst of all, if you tried to jack a car up it just pulled the entire thing up and would take days to settle down again, bloody trip hazzard.

That said, I kept it in the "workshop" area though where the units sit on top of it. Nice to walk\work on and easy to clean.

Glad I'm not the only one with carpet in their garage. Beautiful to work on, I have half carpet and half epoxy resin paint stuff, and I always move the bike over to the carpet if I'm fiddling with it. Look a bit strange hoovering the garage but whatever.

Another one for garage floor tiles (Mototile) with some stainless plate where the cats from a previous car would try and melt them!!

Been down 9 years now and still look good.
