Glad I'm not the only one with carpet in their garage. Beautiful to work on, I have half carpet and half epoxy resin paint stuff, and I always move the bike over to the carpet if I'm fiddling with it. Look a bit strange hoovering the garage but whatever.
Not at all, dyson in one hand, beer in the other - I have even installed beer shelves for convenience biggrin
I vacuumed the patio the other day, I think you're alright wink
My misses would go nuts if I hoovered outdoors!
I'd done a load of woodwork, so sawdust everywhere. I borrowed a mates rubble vacuum and used the handle bit from the old vacuum. Not as bad as I made it sound! but still...

Everyones done that one, surely!

We lived opposite a small family, and the mum was cleaning nuts. She'd wipe the stoop down when every someone entered or exited the house.

Well, she used to vacuum the drive with her normal vacuum (probably a special outdoor one actually) 3 times a week.

I do sometimes pinch the house one to do some hoovering.

Yep, I saved our Henry for that when my wife bought a new Sebo. That was some 20 years ago and Henry still gets pressed into use for clearing up all sorts of mess that she prefers not to use 'the new Hoover' for hehe

I have a Henry for the garage it’s essential. I’ve regularly had it full of Italian ferrous oxide !
It’s also found a new use on the fake grass in the back garden of our new place.

Wouldn’t be without a ‘garage’ vac.

yeah...have one on the wall of the garage ...hoover the garage out from time to time and cars

Also do the (fake) grass once a year with the Henry vac out of my workshop and may do the paved area close by as required.

I use the workshop and garage vac more than the house vac, we divide up the chores wink

Something like this is quite handy to save the indoor one from destruction - https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb774vac-1300w-1...

For garage / deck / fake grass / diy / car use & can be used as a wet vac for clearing Layzspa / drains / toilets / etc (although I have a pond vac for these jobs).

It can also be used as a blower - helped me get a bbq going faster once (and set fire to a shrub).

I bought one of these, very much like a Ghostbuster's backpack..

It has a bluetooth remote.... none of this 'walking to the vacuum to turn it on/off' It reaches outside to do the car parked in fromt of the garage.

I have one of those, works great, was about £140 a few years ago though. Seems cheapest on Amazon is £200 now...still better than the >£300 RRP

Highly recommend carpet tiling in the garage.....perhaps not if you're into very oily tinkering, but it warms the place up for 'normal' use!!

For those also looking into options at the moment. I received these samples from Dyno tiles today, look and feel really good, would definitely need underlay though. Much prefer the look of the interlocking joins.

Waiting for my RTEK samples.

Yeah definitely get the underlay for the dynotiles, its pretty cheap just real thin foam....stops the tap tap tap noise as you walk around. Im really pleased still after 10 years of use...and keep saying one day Im going to clean the garage out and relay the floor with underlay smile

I did use this garage for a car for a couple of years prior to moving bikes in there and the tiles held up well to use of jacks etc

I probably wouldnt go black again though, always looks dusty. All grey would be more practical.

The tapping is irritating and I very nearly went with foam underlay but a biblical deluge has just breached the front of my garage and got under the leading tiles so foam probably not a good idea if getting wet is a possibility.

There's a reasonable rise from front to back so it seems to self drain.smile
