It’s rather grand but does have the age old problem of these houses in that the land that generated the income to pay for them has long been gives off.

Something like that is probably going to require 2/3 full time members of staff and continual monthly maintenance costs and that’s going to easily add up to probably well north of £100k/annum.

I guess it is cheap because it’s either falling down or the local economy isn’t sufficient in size for the property to generate enough revenue?
The oil to heat it will be 100k/annum! Never mind the rest of the maintenance.
Ah but you don’t heat big houses you wear jumpers and slippers. biggrin

I have a 'never worn in anger' (very clean) set of thermal overalls from my offshore days.

Who needs central heating..

ETA: plus i am sure it has atleast one log fire, by the time you are done chopping some wood for it you will be quite warm, and wont need it.

Today, I shall be mostly liking:

Clearly, when you buy a house the furniture rarely stays, but I feel I have to mention that the dining chairs modelled on stripper heels are horrendous.

It's just as well that it's all about location, because the house is horrible.

And overlooked from both sides by neighbours you could reach out and touch. No thanks.

That’s the best thing about real wood fires. It gets you warm twice. Once when you chop and split it and once when you burn it thumbup

And pretty grim outside. Price reflects the location not the house surely.

The description does say "Impressive record of holiday rental income", so I'd say you're spot-on.

I like that there are people of taste on PH. I so rarely meet fellow chair fetishists in the real world.

"A Cinderella incinerating toilet". If you're stuck on the island in bad weather, and you run out of fairy tale characters, how do you keep the bog alight?
