Knipex for pliers, side cutters, circlip pliers, basically anything like this and by some margin too

I promised myself I'd not buy any more tools this year and now need new screw drivers all of a sudden

I've got the Wera 300 6 piece screwdriver set. Can't fault it for general DIY jobs and you can really apply a lot of torque with your hand due to the shape of the handles.

I now want the Wera ratchet screwdriver and the full "joker" spanner set.

They are lovely things. A lot thinner and lighter than you imagine but in a good way. The rachet system is lovely.

I work on an installment basis; one a month and all of a sudden they seem quite reasonable...

Adjustable spanners are sooo last century. You need a Knipex Pliers Wrench instead

It starts with PB Swiss hex keys, but before long you find yourself doing the man maths for titanium hex keys

This Bit driver ratchet has been one of the best Amazon purchases I've made, it's been invaluable in numerous poor access situations.

Only 'Sealey' brand but nicely made and seems to be unique in having a fixed hex fitting in the handle end which is really useful for extending the length using a hex key (for access rather than leverage I hasten to add).

That looks really handy as a backup tool, tape a holder with a few bits in it and keep it in the glovebox. Unfortunately I also found this-

Yes, that Wera set is a lovely looking thing I have a tiny Teng bit/socket set that fits under the seat of my bike if I'm doing any significant distance, but I use the little Sealey ratchet most of the time when working on cars. It fits into a fairly comprehensive bit set I bought from Lidl ages ago.

My only concern would be how well the whole set holds together, I'd be mighty annoyed if e.g. the sockets fell off if it got rattled around a bit.

That Teng socket set is one of my favourites, the wee ratchet can take a fair bit of torque as well.
