I wonder how much all the equestrian gubbins and land adds to the value (and would it be easy to sell off as a business given I have zero interest in the big smelly things)
You'd easily get someone in to manage for you as a business, that way you keep ownership of the land and it helps pay the (massive) mortgage. Only issue could be having people so close to where you live, but you'd have the same issue if you sold it - though looking at Google Earth, it looks fairly easy to do.

Nice place.

Really like that house, decor not to my taste especially the seamless linking of kitchen and dining area
this ^^^ there are some lovely elements - however it is somewhat 'severe'. Needs some colour

Interior is a bit bland, but the location/setting is good enough for me.

this may come as a shock but house prices differ enormously depending on location, hence my comment: "(ignore price, that’s London for you)"

I just like the house

Have we had this one? 2,500m^2 of chateau and related buildings, 70 ha of land including 10 ha of park and 45 ha of vines. 20km from centre of Bordeaux. Price includes the contents.

No doubt needs at least the purchase price spent on it again...

Lovely building and incredible interior but I think my dream home is a maximum of 6,000 sq ft

Houses line that are too massive to feel like a home, unless you’ve got 6 kids I suppose (who never move out and have their own families)

the thought had occurred to me too - it is lovely though. I assume a thorough search would turn up water related issues (Mustang in the garage/car-port says that the roads there are in good nick)

You're kidding! House prices differ versus locations? Wow. Got any more wisdom for me?

In other news, this may come as a shock to you, but it's perfectly ok to think that £5m for that place is hilarious.

I quite like this. Not fussed on all the horsey stuff but I do like this sort of place, some sort of retired country gent feel to the place.

Ooh yes, I could quite happily live there. Spend a few grand getting rid of some of the iffy decor and horsey crap and it’d be near perfect.

Hmm not keen on the second one. Bit slab sided and I have a strong dislike of spiral staircases.

Yep, the second one’s not particularly nice. The first is lovely though.

Looking at it with the big windows, high ceiling and odd layout you'd think it was a converted commercial building, pump house or school even when the blurb says built in 2004. Looking at google earth from 1999 it shows something there though, half a building by the looks of things.
