If I remember correctly it had a tunnel under the house that led up to the woods, not sure if that is common with old manor houses, some kind of escape route I presume?
My friend has this in their house. I was lead to believe it was a service route for the house staff to get in and out of the manor house discreetly and without ruining aesthetics.

It does! Which friend did you know? O or W? Spent much of my childhood here blasting about the field on MX bikes.

For those that know the Wendover area in Bucks, I quite like the look of this house on the Ellesborough Road - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Shame HS2 is going to be so close by (would be interesting to see just how close). However, still a lovely location nestled right at the foot of one of the highest points in the Chilterns (Coombe Hill).

Around 400m as the crow flies to the closest point (inside the Wendover Tunnel), and around 1km to either opening

Incredibly sad to see so many lovely properties being disturbed by an utterly unnecessary rail network addition.

Put the money into hyper-fast broadband across the country, and at a stroke, the country stops being London-centric. Everyone can work anywhere, which saves money and reduces road congestion, and pollution at the same time.

HS2 is a fking stupid idea, dreamed up by luddites with no imagination, but that's for another thread, and I ain't going anywhere near NP&E...

While I don't think HS2 is a great use of resource, I don't think its broadband making London the center hehe

If people could use effective, fast and reliable video, voice and data communications to speak to co-workers, there'd be no need to sit in the same office for work or for meetings. London is a financial centre because of what happens there, but it doesn't have to happen there. It could, effectively be 'cloud-based'.

Having an office filled with desks is really quite backward, and achieves nothing that can't be achieved with technology.

Tech is here right now. London still full of people at desks.

Because reliable high-speed comms don't exist across the country, except in major connurbations.

Apologies, I don't know why the link didn't copy correctly - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

That's the one I meant. I like the one you have posted but prefer the other more.

Still, as has been said, I think these properties will be hard to sell regardless of how nice they look as HS2 will change the landscape forever. That's ignoring also the construction stage which, frankly, in a small place like Wendover will almost certainly be awful.

Yours is nicer. And around 1km further away than the one I posted. They promise various mitigations to noise and view (culverts, tunnels and so on), but I agree, the umpteen years of construction will be the worst.

Seems reasonably good VFM, for down south.

Given the contents of the garage and the Mosler floor tiles, it surely has to be a pH'er.
