Tech is here right now. London still full of people at desks.
All the tech in the world and people will still need to move around. If they didn't, then everyone's job would have been moved to India by now.

Something a bit more, can we say, reasonably priced, yet still very very nice?

Over here in NI, you get a lot of house for your money once you're over an hour away from Belfast

A snip a £575k

Or getting into much more affordable price bracket, £400k, newly built so needs decorated, and 18 acres of land included and triple garage which will appeal to car fans...

And if you've only got around £300k to spend, you can still get you're mansion in the woods, just won't have the grand interior finishes...

Plenty of garage space on this one near Hitchin, Herts - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Seems reasonably good VFM, for down south.
That’s up north! hehe

Love that style hardwood flooring. Stunning.
They're also a bit more sensible with their views in NI.
Wonder if that's going to change anytime soon...?

By views do you mean prices?

Once you travel a bit out of Belfast, houses are roughly cost price. Ie, if a house costs £300k to build, you can buy it for about £320k. A 1000sqft 3 bed detached can be picked up for £100k for example. Prices gradually ramp up as you start getting closer to Belfast.

Sorry, wasn't very clear... Meant they're more conservative minded than here.
My problem is (always has been!) home is where the heart is.

Looks like an American style bath, short, but deep.

You can tell it's north because despite the asking price of £2.75M they still want extra money for the workbenches in the garage.

It is on the other side of the pond, but if you do fancy living in a Disneyesque cottage, how about this one...

It is quite mad and horribly twee, but it looks really well done and I quite like it boxedin

Although the walls are weirdly shiny and look like melted icecream. confused

Cool, I'd need to be able to gate up the gatehouse towers mind. Can't have a "castle" without a roof terrace.

Is it just me or should the plan view be in the 'Juvenile things that make you snigger' thread? hehe
