Burglar Alarm Wiring
Discussion
If fitted correctly and positioned with thought these are quite immune to false alarms.

Then yes. A detector can be set up to chime when tripped
That sounds brilliant, ideally I want something to wake me up 3AM to alert me if someone is snooping outside the house. My driveway is 18 metres long and I have 7ft fence panels all around the garden, so anyone who gets close up to the house obviously has bad intentions.

You are too cheap. Doing it for buttons devalues the industry for everybody doing it properly and creates unrealistic expectations from customers.
It’s not doing it for buttons, it’s doing it for an acceptable rate which I’m happy with and my customers are happy with which results in me being busy til 3rd week in March at this point.‘Everybody doing it properly’? Because I charge less than you I’m not doing it properly? What you want is to have everyone at the same ridiculous price you’re at so you don’t have any ‘so and so is cheaper than you’.
Doesn’t devalue anything...it makes security systems affordable to everyone, and like I mentioned, this has proved popular and keeps me very busy through word of mouth alone.
So do me a favour, cry me a river and send any potential clients you’ve priced yourself out of my number and I’ll sort something out for them.
Thanks x

Do the quotes I've been given so far (£500) sound reasonable for a control panel, bell box, 3 PIRs and 2 door sensors?
Not for me.... I know you said no wireless but you'll get something like this with someone paid £300 to screw 5 things to the wall.https://www.safe.co.uk/products/yale-easy-fit-tele...

I thought you only did 3 a month? That is homer money or bob-a-job i'll have a go at anything sparky money. The costs of running a security company with properly qualified engineers, toolbox talks and regular ongoing training, proper safety equipment, 24/7 standby, safecontractor, properly maintained and insured vans, carrying stock for first time fix if there are any issues, ssaib membership, electrical certs, proper insurance that will adequately cover clients losses if the system fail to perform, there is no way £450 covers that and leaves you at a living wage taking into account tax, holiday pay, sick pay, pension contributions without money coming from elsewhere. ‘Everybody doing it properly’? Because I charge less than you I’m not doing it properly? What you want is to have everyone at the same ridiculous price you’re at so you don’t have any ‘so and so is cheaper than you’.

I'm crying for no one I have more work than I can cover, but in a race to the bottom no one wins.
