Walls are very low maintenance which is a great benefit haha

I suspect you'll find on a relatively modern estate you aren't allowed to erect walls / fences to the front of your house.

Interestingly I rang the council to ask about that and they didn't see any issue with it other than a pretty standard height restriction.

Thanks! I think a fence would be my least preferably option so makes sense you wanting to remove it. It's funny about the mock tudor sentiments, my brother really doesn't like it but I'm a pretty big fan of it.

I had my house rendered completely a few years ago. They used JUB silicone render (in white) and it still looks brand new. Any bird poo just washes off with the rain and there is none of that horrid staining you see on concrete painted render from dirt collecting around the guttering brackets etc and leaving vertical stains. Took them (3 guys) about 3 weeks in total.

I think it was a Bovis site I worked on where we were asked to apply the first coat only,then the mock timbers we're screwed on.
We then went back to put the second finish coat on between the timbers.

So op,be aware that if the render is hacked off it may be prudent to mention about the first coat.
