These Samsung fridge freezers have a self diagnostic. Press and hold down both the power freeze nd power cool buttons, hold down for 8 seconds still the display goes blank or flashes. Then look at the temperature digits and see if any part of them is lit up.

If there is 8 or 88 lit up, it means the fan motor has an error. If the botton bar of the secong digit on the fridge tem is illuminated, it means the temp sensor is goosed.

There are a few others but I dont know them! But is useful for explaining to Serviceline the engineers doing this recal stuff what may be wrong.

If it's that clever why doesn't it just tell you, rather than all this Bletchley Park divided-by-the-first-number-you-thought-of malarkey??

'Fan motor buggered, call 0800 etc'

'Should have bought a Miele'

'Eat more fruit' etc.
