And just a side note
I don't classify buying a run down house, renovating it then selling it as property development by any stretch of the imagination. Buy a run down house, knock it down, build units on the land, sure. Lick of paint and a new kitchen? no.
That's quite interesting. So are only builders and construction firms developers ? What about facade/shell retention and warehouse conversion and structural alteration projects? I don't classify buying a run down house, renovating it then selling it as property development by any stretch of the imagination. Buy a run down house, knock it down, build units on the land, sure. Lick of paint and a new kitchen? no.

Okay - so I'm planning to leave my career and start out in proeprty development and with he current timing, this will probably be considered mad by most!
But, I've decided on this career change with all its pros and cons and would be very grateful if any of the professional developers on here could advise the names of any books theyve found particularly useful on any aspect of developing.
Thanks!
