Just reread through all this, very interesting thread. Your utility room is very posh. Most people just stick their old kitchen in there and let her make do. I see you've put a TV in there for her too, which is very generous, I hope she appreciates it.

Did you look at a full width extension at all? Your £30k seems good value compared with some quotes people have put up on here, but I wondered how much more it would have been to do the full width? Not that I think that you should have done that, I'm just interested.

I saw someone mirrored my thoughts when you put your costs up, £30k for the two story, then £15k for the glass box. £5k on those bi-folds seems to be the going rate and they do look very very nice, but christ, where does the money go? Genuine question for anyone that knows, they seem very very expensive for what they are, are they priced at what the market will pay or are there reasons why they cost what they cost?

We did consider it, but we really wanted a room that was an extension of the patio. We looked at a tiled roof room, with bi-folds & remove the french doors from the back of the house, but we were going to be looking at double the money of the conservatory. The u/f heating & rad are on a timer so by breakfast time Sat & Sun morning the conservatory is toasty warm.

Under step LED lighting a success. Simply RGB LED tape, with the controller inside, under one of the utility units & the IR control in the wall in the conservatory.
