Anyone know about moth proof (ing) carpets? We have quite a bad problem and are planning to treat the place before replacing them but want something mothproof as they're a problem locally.

Does moth proofing work on wool, can i get away with a mix of wool and synthetic? Or do I have to resign myself to nylon?

The man made carpets are not to be sniffed at!

We recently decided on 100% man made carpet when we renovated our house (2 toddlers and a big dog - bleach cleanable carpet too tempting!!!!).

I'm really impressed - it's the equivalent of a 50oz carpet. You wouldn't know.

We went for Regency Elegance:

We're after a loop rather than pile and there's not many synthetic about like that.

Interesting, I'd never buy a loop again after the last lot, pile is much easier to look after IMO.

It's not the dog, it's the fact you can't use a hoover properly on a loop.

You have to turn the brushes/beater off so that you're reliant on the suction to get everything.

We found the top of the pile eventually went frizzy and bobbly.
